After driving for what feels like forever, I pull up to Cantina Dos Segundos. Keith looks at me like he's over my obsession with Mexican cuisine.

"Before you say anything, they have the best quesadillas I've ever had and I haven't eaten yet today, so we're going in and we're going to eat." I'm gathering my phone, wallet, and car keys while explaining myself.

"Whatever you say, as long as we talk." Before I can give him an answer, he's already out of the car, on his phone again. How you gonna say you wanna talk, then be all in your phone.

Anyway, pushing that thought to the back of my mind, I get out of the car and head straight for the door. Feeling his eyes on me from behind, I turn around and catch him in the act. All he does is send me back one of his signature sneaky smirks.

"Hi! My name is Adrian. I'll be your server for the day, would you like a booth or a table?"

I smile, "Hi, um, a table would be good. Do you have one near the back, maybe?"

Adrian gives me a look over, I assume because of my request but then his eyes travel beyond my head, then I feel Keith standing behind me.

"Oh, for two? No problem, follow me." We follow suit before we're showed to a nicely lit table, with chips and salsa already at the table.

"Here you go, the menus. I'll give you sometime to look them over and be back in a few minutes." He smiles at me then hands the menus over, while Keith is waiting for him to leave.

"Thanks, fam. We'll be ready in like 5 minutes, cool?" Keith takes one of the menus out of my hands, practically dismissing Adrian.

I send a small 'sorry' smile at him, he nods then walks away.

"You know, you don't have to be so rude. It would be beneficial to be friendly, since he is handling our food." I don't even get a reaction from Keith, he shrugs his shoulders and continues to look over the menu.

"Keith. Stop being fucking rude, I know you can hear me just fine." Nothing.

"You know, for a person who wanted to talk, you're not doing much of it. What are we here for?"

Silence. "Man, I'm out." As soon as I stand up, he drops his menu.

"Go ahead and get Adrian number, while you're at it."

Anytime that I feel like I'm about to say something reckless, I think for ten seconds if it would make me cry if it was said to me, then I decide against it or go along with saying it.

What I was going to say to him, would make me cry for at least a day, so I decide against it.

Taking my time, I walk back to my seat and sit back down, giving him a scowling face the whole time. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"I'm saying, that Adrian is obviously feeling you and you probably feeling the same way, so go holla at em."

"Being courteous does not transfer over to feeling somebody. What's up with you, like for real."

He sighs and rubs his hand down his face, "Why did we just never try again?"

His little fit leading up to this question, I was about to give him an answer but I saw Adrian approaching to take our orders. I reached across the table to hold Keith's hand, "Please be nice." Was all I said and he nodded to me.
