The substitute

Chapter 9

I'm so stupid!!

I let him go just like that!!! I was so weak,

So fragile I hated it!

And not to mention I didn't even say goodbye... Well I did say goodbye but everything I wanted say I didn't even talk about!!!

I'm an idiot!

I start to punch my pillows why is everything coming so fast? I need time. First my internship, dad coming, Nate leaving, new job, meeting new people.... Wait the call!! I totally forgot about the call since I'm so distracted about Nate.

I check my phone and see that I have a missed call

Shoot!

I call Mr.Gates luckily he answers on the third ring

"hello?" I say into the phone

"Mrs. Archer?"

"Um ya... I just wanted to ask about the job... Thing?" Why am I so awkward??

"Oh yes the job! I would love to say that the principle from Green Hill Community College would love to have you substitute for their summer school class!!"

Oh my god I have just been accepted... Wait summer school?

"Did you say summer school?" He couldn't have said that

"Yes mrs.Archer summer school." He repeats

Great, I'm teaching summer school and when I thought I get a break from school I get this! I've never been to summer school so I wouldn't know what it's like, I'm hoping it won't be that bad.

"Umm okay... When do I start." Please don't say next week anything but next week

"Next week." Great the world really does hate me next week is when my father comes home I can't believe it's been a month already! I wanted to pick him up from the airport, but I can't do that now can I.

"Okay thank you." I tell him with my fakest nice voice ever

"No problem honey, and yes it may be a lot but just think of your future here anyone would love to be in your place right now remember hard work pays off." I hope he's right

"Thanks a lot Mr.Gates." for ruining my summer my conscience adds

"Your welcome see you next week."

"Ya see you" I say and we hang up

I check the time, it's 7:00 since I have no one to drive me I'll just walk I quickly get dressed and run out the door I start fast walking hoping to make it in time.

I take out my phone and text Nate

Hey, how's the flight

I quickly put my phone back in my pocket and continue to walk while I'm walking I see Louis I quickly walk up to him I need to ask him about the summer school class maybe he is in it.

"Hey." Louis says

"Hey Louis I need to ask you something?" I say I hope I don't sound frantic or anything luckily he doesn't seem to notice my worry.

"Okay tell me"

"Are you in summer school?" That caught him off guard I can tell by his eyes and how they go wide

"Why? Are you in summer school?" He asks with a smirk on his face

"What no! I'm teaching it." I tell him

"You! Teaching summer school!" He sounds extremely shocked

"um ya.. And I want to know if you know anybody who is going to be in summer school."
