"Harry stop!" I yell, but he doesn't listen. All of the kids who were supposed to be in detention were dismissed by me. I don't want Harry to hurt anyone, he is already in an enough trouble and I really don't want anyone ending up in a hospital.
Harry picks up another chair and slams it against the wall making the wall crack. I quickly run up to him, "Harry please stop!" I say like a whine, but he ignores me. This time he goes for a table and I start to panic. I know he won't listen to me if I say stop so I decide to grab both of his hands. When I feel his hands it's freezing I look down to see them, it has a few cuts and bruises. I could feel his eyes on me. When I look back up to him he looks away.
I let go of one of his hands and lead him to my desk, surprisingly he follows. I grab a chair that hasn't been thrown and gesture for him to sit on it. He gently nods his head and sits on the chair.
After a few minutes of silence I decide to speak. "So..... Whats wrong?" I ask him.
"You want to know whats wrong?" He's confused. I don't know why he is confused, maybe he wasn't expecting that question? I don't know.
"Yeah, what caused you to throw all of those chairs and break everything?" I ask him.
"What are you my therapist?" He snaps slurring it a bit.
He leaves the room and I go after him. Not because I want to, but because if he destroys another thing I could get fired and I can not let that happen. He sees me going after him so he starts to run be he keeps tripping on his feet cause he's drunk. So it's easier for me to catch up to him.
"Harry at least stay until detention is over?" I say it more like a question then a demand. He isn't paying attention though he is staring at the floor. "Please?" I say making eye contact with him and he nods his head.
We don't go back in the classroom. We sit on a bench in the hallway quietly while he plays with the fabric on my dress. By puling out a string from the bottom of the dress and twirling it around his finger.
...
Detention finally ends and I'm forced to break the comforting silence. "Okay detention is over now you can leave." I tell him.
"I can't." He says chuckling a bit.
What does he mean by he can't?
"Why?" I ask him smiling.
"My finger is stuck." He laughs like a child making me smile even more. I look at his finger and the string attached to my dress is wrapped around Harry's finger pretty tight.
"Give me your finger." I giggle. I take the string and try to unwrap it, but it doesn't work.
"Looks like were going to have to cut your finger off." I tease him.
"Haha." He says smiling and shaking his head.
"I need to get scissors." I tell him.
As I'm walking, Harry walks behind me bending over a bit because the string is attached at the bottom of my dress making me laugh.
"Shut up." I could hear the smile in his voice.
I find the scissors and cut the string between my dress and his finger. Then I gently put the scissors between the string and his finger and cut it.
"I'm free." He smiles showing his dimples.
"You are so cu-" I quickly cut myself off and walk away quickly.
He grabs me by my arm and pulls me to him. "What were you going to say?" He smirks.
"Um, I was going to say you are so stupid." I say. Why am I so stupid? I can't believe I was going to call him cute! He is the biggest jerk ever! And I said cute!!! I mentally slap myself actually, no. I mentally kill myself.
"Mhm." He smirks.
We finally walk to the lobby and leave the school.
"Bye Zoey." He says.
"Bye." I mumble making him laugh.
...
Once I'm home I call my best friend Abby. "Come now, emergency!" I tell her and hang up.
Half an hour later Abby finally arrives. "Okay, so what's wrong?" She asks me.
I tell her everything on how he was destroying school property and how I had to stay in detention with him. Then I tell her about how the string was stuck on his finger and that I called him cute on accident.
"Well Zoe it seems to me that you like him." She says.
"I don't like him! Gross! Abby I do not like him!" I tell her.
"I don't know. I never saw you with him, but what I herd from you it seems like you do." She says.
"I'm not into those type of guys. Though Nate is totally different from Harry." I say.
"Have you and Harry ever fought?" I remember when I was at the club and Harry and I did fight.
"Yes." I say.
"Have you and Nate ever fought?" I remember I got mad at him for not telling me that he was moving, but we didn't really fight about it.
"No." I say.
"See fighting is good. It's a spark, it means your relationship is healthy." She tells me. I want to ask her what she means by that, but I decide against it.
"Well what do you want me to do, go out with him? Well I can't cause he is my student and I'll get fired if I date a student." I snap at her.
"Then your going to have to get over him." She tells me.
"I was never into him." I tell her.
"Okay fine we'll just find a new guy for you to drool over." She says and I roll my eyes.
"Well there is a bar that just opened up. I went there and their are so many hot guys you'll stop thinking about that Harry guy in a snap." She says while snapping her fingers.
"Okay, but can we go tomorrow?" I whine.
"Yeah sure." She says.
"So who is this Harry guy you're drooling over, describe him to me." I ignore how she says I'm drooling over him and describe him to her.
"Well he's extremely tall, green eyes, brown curly hair, british-"
"Wait he's british!" She cuts me off.
"Um.. yeah." I say confused why she looks so excited.
"Everyone falls for the british!" She says.
"Really?" I ask her.
"Yeah they could say anything and make it seem cute." She says.
"Whatever." I say.
"Well I got to go. I hope I run into Harry." She winks at me.
"Shut up." I tell her and she laughs.
Once Abby leaves I think about what she said do I really like him? I don't even know he was just nice and funny and cheeky, it was fun to watch. And he was drunk anyway. When he is drunk he is a totally different person, once he is sober he will be back to his obnoxious self.
