Chapter 10 - "Hidden"

After a lot of hugging and most couples kissing, After everyone calmed down, especially Nina and Rydel who were crying there eyes out when we almost fell, Riker regained control and we made a plan.

"Ok so it's obvious that we can't go back the way we came, but whatever we have to get away from this water!" We all noodled in our huddle. I looked at my phone no signal, but at least we knew the time. 4:27. Ok at least it's still afternoon, but I had a feeling we were gonna be here in the dark. Everyone was mumbling to themselves about what to do.

"The waters still coming we need to go" I stood and looked to the back of the ledge. I then remembered the metal, the reason I had got us here in the first place.

"The metal!" I mumbled loudly to myself, everyone looked at me like a psycho except Ratliff who looked just as shocked as me.

A large amount of slime covered it that I attempted to pull it away. The metal easy wet and rusted. I then realised that it's a small hatch. I grabbed the side and pulled it wouldn't budge. From behind it must have looked as if I was yanking rock away. Everyone was still looking at me, they must have thought I was mad, all except Ratliff hi came over to help. Riker followed behind but just stood and watched.

"A little help please" I said, Rocky, Ross and Riker soon started to work together. The others watched. I stood with the others when I suddenly realised Maissie had gone missing. How the hell did we manage to loose her on a flipping ledge??!! I didn't want to worry the others but I dashed round the corner...............Maissie sat at the edge watching the water,she didn't seem at peace but she seemed deep in thought. Personally I was relieved I thought she might have fallen....

"The water is almost reaching...." She said distantly. Of all the things happening, I should be helping the others but I went and sat with Maissie.

"Are you ok...you don't seem with it" I looked and she seemed to come back to reality.

"I think I love Rocky" she was staring at the water eyes wide.

"Er........." I froze completely, how he hell do I react to that at this point in time. I stood up and gave her a reassuring smile. After thinking she stood up.

"Everything will come to light eventually.....just don't do anything stupid" we came back to the others immediately greeted by Rebecca and Rydel.

"THANK God!" Said Rydel, "We wondered where the hell you had gone!" Continued Rebecca, "I'm fine and I think she is too but maybe you should chat for a while" and with that I went to the guys,leaving Maissie with the option to tell or keep calm.

I tapped Rocky and Ratliff on the back, they both stopped and turned to me leaving Riker heaving on his own. I looked at Rocky and pointed to Maissie discreetly, "you need to talk when we get through ok" he nodded as if I was a commander. I smiled at the power. Rocky rejoined Riker.

"So what's up? What happened?" Asked Ratliff, I didn't want to say much for Maisie's sake, if she wanted to say something she would. He waited patiently for me to answer.

"......Nothing much........how's the door, budging" he ran his hands through his hair, before turning back to me.

"Well it's defiantly budging......I-" he was cut off by Rocky continuing

"It would be open faster if we hadn't lost our help!!! Ratliff, Ross get your damn butts over here and pull!"

"I better go back......I-" cut off again but by Maissie,

"The water....." Ross had been holding hands with Nina who sat with Rydel, Rebecca and Marianne. Apparently she didn't want to be alone......wtf.

Ratliff smiled weakly, slightly disappointed before returning to the door. All guys were working the door now.

"ON 3.....1.....2..3!!!" They all pulled together and the metal trap swung open, though none of us knew what was on the others side we squeezed through the hole. When everyone was through Riker re sealed the door. At least the water was less of a problem but we still needed to get away.

The door opened to another thin tunnel, it was extremely dark but with the help of iPhones we at least had torches we stood together.

"Ok......I think we should keep moving, it's 6:38.We need to distance ourselves from the water, but I have a bad feeling we will be spending the night here..." The last part Riker said under his breath but I stood behind him and could hear.

As we set off down the tunnel, I began to have deeper,thoughts.....what if we couldn't escape, we have no food or water....there's no sign of an escape. I mean for heavens sake we almost downed. I was shaken by my thoughts by Maissie and Marianne.

"What are you thinking about?" Asked Maissie she seemed extremely calm for everything that was happening,mat that moment Rocky joined and asked for. Maissie. They walked at the back.

Ratliff was talking to Riker, Riker glimpsed back at Marianne and Me a few times and so did he......... Marianne looked at me with concern. Urgh! what was going on?!
