Chapter 24-Mystery Morning
I woke to the glow of the sun through my living room curtains, i couldn't help it as a smile tugged at my lips. I took in the familiar room, the familiar scent.....all the things that i loved. All the things that made me feel safe, I've never been more grateful to be home.
I yawned relaxing more into the couch as memories of last night flooded back into my mind. Suddenly i had a flash back *i heard movement around but i remained asleep, i heard someone whisper something in my ear and lips pressed softly against my cheek. Lingered before moving away* , i frowned to myself before stretching out. I let my arms drop quickly to the floor, i immediately hit someone on the head.
"Hey!?" The voice was deep and sleepy, i looked over the edge of the couch at a now dazed Ratliff. He smirked up at me and i felt the heat rise in my cheeks, i still returned a smile. I quickly slipped over him and made my way out the room past a snoring Rydel, who was slumping off the other sofa. She mumbles ALot! In her dreams, something about Ben?
I made my way to the fridge and grabbed a drink, the house was quiet, everyone seemed at peace. I checked the time 9:00. IM never awake at this time!!...maybe i should make breakfast....yup food! . Giggles came from upstairs and i knew the others were up. I searched the cupboards for the pancake mix, i heard slow footsteps behind me, i felt a stare scanning me and then CRASH! I froze and turned to find Ratliff spazzing in the middle of the kitchen after knocking over the fruit bowl. I felt nerves get to me.
"I don't know how you manage to do these things?!" I laughed trying to feel less awkward than i did because of yesterday. I dreaded for when Nina and Ross finally came downstairs. He smiled shyly and after putting stuff back he wandered over to the counter next to me. I felt my heart beat faster as he watched me. He rubbed the back of his neck
"good morning ba-" he greeted me but he cut himself off and looked really shocked at what he was going to say. But i don't know what!? I want to know? There was suddenly alot of shouting from upstairs but i just ignored it.
I tried to act as casual as i could, returning the greeting, but from the corner of my eye i studied his face, he was deep in thought. I zoned out for a brief moment and-
"ALEX!" I jumped dropping what i had in my hands onto the counter, Ratliff looked at me with a comical expression his hand rested on my shoulder. I stared at the counter which was covered in flower and milk....wtf did i just do, i face palmed myself. I could hear a low snigger. After a minute of cleaning in awkward silence, he spoke again. He stared at my hand, he slowly intertwined our fingers he looked me in the eyes. I held my breath.
"Erm.......Alex...about yesterday-"
Meanwhile upstairs......
Nina woke up as a CRASH echoed through the house, but she soon relaxed and she laughed at Ross who was hugging her with a cheeky grin on his face. They were staying in the spare room. Maissie and rocky were way too excited to be in the bunk bed room and riker,Rebecca, Ryland and Marianne all crashed in the upstairs tv room, but seriously you don't understand how awkward the atmosphere in that room was....
you had the love triangle then riker abandons marianne and rebecca steals her bestfriends boyfriend, then a ryland comes along and marianne is happy again, but riker is jelous...like dude what is wrong with you.
"Ross, I'm hungry carry me downstairs!" Ordered Nina, Ross smirked before picking her up and spinning her around then bouncing out the room, yelling "CHARGE!"
"DUDE SHUT IT!" Yelled maissie and rocky at the same time, before they burst out laughing.
"STOP YELLING!" Screamed Marianne, when she was tired she was serious about sleep.
"MARIANNE!!" Yelled Ryland nudging her...which immediately left her speechless.
"DO YOU MIND!?" Shouted Riker, he accidentally hit Rebecca and so a punchie war broke out.
Niss rushed down stairs, ross dropped her at the bottom and they ran pushing and shoving each other between giggles to get to the kitchen. She turned through the door ....then stopped in her tracks.
Ratliff stood holding alex's hand and placed his other hand on her cheek before slowly leaning in, lips almost touching...
"Omg! Alex!" She grabbed her phone and pressed record.
