Chapter 23 - Home

I was so grateful that they were here, I don't know what would have happened if they hadn't spotted us. My hand throbbed as it was held tight. I looked at the hand holding my arm gently, I felt nervous...

"JUMP!!!" Riker screamed, the men had jumped ship as soon as the coast guard called. The leaders voice echoed in my head 'we will fine you, you know!' KNOW KNOW WHAT!!??

My hand had been wrapped in the towel by rocky who remembered having done it for Ross when he was little. We hoped onto the safe boat. We were checked for first aid and comforted as well as fed. Riker and Ryland went off to explain the whole story to the guard whilst we relaxed on deck.

Though the sun was not shining, the air was clean and cool, the night sky sparkled I breathed a sigh of relief. After everything the world seemed so at peace, even the sea crashed gently on the beach. But I knew as soon as I look down everything will change.

I looked in the sorrows eyes, Rydel was clearly traumatised, Rebecca and Marianne had defiantly strained there friendship, though they sat together neither of them spoke or even acknowledged each other. Rocky was trying to brighten the mood as he teased Ross and Niamh over NISS. Asking what they were doing in the cave? It was very funny.

Maissie looked extremely frustrated and annoyed.....when she's in a mood she's not good to talk to. I just stared at the stars as we made our way to the dock. I leaned against the side. I finally felt safe.

"You ok?" I looked to my left to find Ratliff, he sat beside me. Maissie was on my left but yuno moody. I smiled and nodded I looked at his brown eyes, so bright. I then realised I had been staring for like 3 minutes, I turned away...I'm such a doofus!

He laughed under his breath and then turned me to face him, "your cheek seems to healed well" his hand rested on my cheek as before. I held my breath as he suddenly moved closer. I broke eye contact "I guess, I can't really see" I laughed, I always felt awkward with contact. His hand remained on my cheek, he just stared.

"ALEX THE GUYS ARE TAKING US HOME!" Screamed Nina from the deck across, she was laughing at me with her judgey expression. I felt the heat rise in the cheeks, I pulled his hand away with a weak smile. He seemed kinda disappointed.

"You ok?" I asked nudging his arm, he shut his eyes spans smiled before replying "Just thinking about everything that's happened...a lot has happened" you couldn't disagree a lot had happened, so much more than could have been imagined. Some of the most unlikely things happened. I just smiled and looked at the sky which was a vibrant shade of orange. "It's beautiful isn't it?" I grinned yeah

"Don't worry those men shouldn't be bothering you anymore, I just got a capture radioed in. Stay safe"

We waved as the patrol drove away, right now everyone was outside my house. Never did I think R5 would be at our house. There was a moment of silence before someone spoke.

"Well it's 10:30 now, I can't be bothered to get home I'm going to bed!" And with that Maissie walked into my house and shut the door I watched in amazement.

"Well ok then.....anyone else" I laughed even though I was sorta worried where she was staying, probs the spare room. Everyone looked around. I gestured and soon Marianne, Rebecca and Nina followed dragging Ross along with her. He looked at me I just shrugged and with that they walked in. I turned and hugged everyone just because I could before walking up to my door, I looked back...

"Come on!" I waved them over and soon they were on there way up the path. Rydel immediately went and crashed on the sofa and rocky, Riker and Ryland went to find the others. Thank god my parents took my brothers camping this weekend.

I felt a hand place on my back, I spun round to a smirking Ratliff. "What?" I asked yawning it was 10:45. He stared at me, what was wrong? I looked around. "Don't worry it's just the way you..." He stopped as laughing filled the room from upstairs. "NINA ROSS, SHUT UP AND GO TO BED!" I yelled I could just about keep my eyes open. He looked utterly shocked with my outburst. I rubbed my eyes "sorry I'm just sleepy...i think the others are in my room so I think it's either the living room or kitchen" I felt myself swaying.

There was a long silence, I opened my eyes to find he had taken a step closer. "Erm.....you ok?" Giggling came from upstairs again, not Ross and Nina. Face palm...I shook my head. "Well I'm gonna go" I turned to leave but he held my hand intwining our fingers spinning me around. "Wow!" He was inches away. "Alex, I was wondering if you would....like...I-" my heart was racing but then....

"ALEX WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY POSTERS AND DID ROSS SAY..oh" Nina came downstairs but soon stopped. She smirked "What's happening here? Was I interrupting?" I rolled my eyes, but now it was just more awkward. He tightened his grip on my hands. I couldn't help but smile, looking up he was already grinning down at me. "Please continue" Nina leant against the banister watching. We both just stared awkwardly from one another to Nina.

"What's taking you so long?!" Ross bounced down the stairs, he was completely shirtless, I think it took all of us off guard...especially Nina. He stared from one to the other. "Wow what's happening here!?" My hands were finally let go, but he didn't move. Smirking he bent close to my ear. I shivered at the touch, he whispered slowly into my ear "Sweet dreams" he lingered for a moment, before heading into the living room.

"Well then, that happened" Ross smirked at her joke, I could barely speak. I nodded.

"Go to bed and don't stare at Ross!" She death glared me but Ross didn't care dragging her up the stairs.

I rubbed my eyes before heading into the living room, tomorrow would be.......interesting.
