Chapter 17 : Searching and Rescuing

"Sana, you really helped us out the other day!" greeted an older man towards Sana.

"I'm so glad. Please feel free to ask me any time." Sana bowed her head and walked home.

"Oh, heading home now, Sana? Take care." greeted an older woman as Sana was on her way home.

"I will. Thank you." Sana let out a small smile.

When she was on her way near her home, she passed through a valley to reach her home. There she saw a person lying tat the floor. She brought her home and took care of him. The moment she saw the person, she was fallen in love with him. She blushed whenever she looked at him.

*Blink blink* Jungkook slowly opened his eyes. "Where.. Where am I?" He said looking at Sana blankly.

He tried to sat but then his head throbbed hurtfully, so Sana laid him back.

"You shouldn't try to move yet. It seems like you hit your head." Sana said carefully.

"U-um.. I found you collapsed on the road. So... I brought you here." She blushed when he stared into her. She never saw someone so handsome before.

"Wh-who am I... Why I was collapsed... I-I don't remember a thing..." Jungkook said as he stared down the necklace on his grasp.

"You've lost.. Your memories..?" Sana asked cautiously. "I'll never saw anyone as handsome as him again. What should I do?" She thought to herself.

"But if this were to go well, this could a dream come true..." She continued.

"Your name is, uhh... Zico" She looked down then continued, "..and I'm Sana."

"We're lovers, remember?" She said as she touched his left arm.

"..... Lovers?" Jungkook asked looking blank.

Yugyeom was at his private house staring outside the window thinking about how nobody know the truth of what happened last night as they've put a gag order. Suddenly as he was deep in his thought, he saw a naked girl walking around asking about another mermaid. Startled he went down as fast as he could and brought the girl inside.

"Are you looking for Jangmi?" Yugyeom asked as he gave her his shirt.

"Are you an acquaintance of Lady Jangmi?" The mystery girl asked looking shocked.

Composing herself, she then continued, " Please forgive my rudeness. I am an envoy from the mermaid kingdom. My name is Nayoung. I've come to retrieve the seventh princess, Lady Jangmi" She said it with her stone face.

After Yugyeom explained everything that happened that night....

"That pearl, it's the princess soul." Nayoung said.

"Her soul?" Yugyeom was shocked.

"Mermaid don't have souls. When we die, we just turned into water and disappear. However, if we become loved by a human being, then even a mermaid can bear a soul like a human. That soul takes the form of a pearl." Nayoung ended her explanation. Yugyeom nodded at that, understanding everything she said.

"Thank you for sharing with me. I'm going to seek out for Prince Jungkook and the princess soul." Nayoung get up and opened the door.

"Wait! Do you know for certain which pearl is Jangmi? Beside, we don't know where is Jungkook. You can't just go running off on a wild goose chase." Yugyeom tried to stop her.

"I can not give up despite its unlikeliness. I must go." Her voice showed determination but her face stayed stone without no emotion.
Yugyeom was weirded out by Nayoung behavior, she was so hard to read.

"I understand, I'll go as well. Besides, you wouldn't be able to live long all by yourself in the human world." Yugyeom stated.

"Then, as your traveling companion, I have something to ask you for." She asked with a sharp eyes.

"Oh yeah right.. You're a mermaid right. Don't tell me you were cursed, too?" Yugyeom was worried.

"Huh? Not at all. The princess doesn't know this, but there's a witch who sells potion to transform you into a human. But there's a problem, what you call a 'curse', if you don't get enough life energy from human, you return to being a mermaid." She explained to him.

"Hu-huh? That's all?" Yugyeom was irritated towards the demon, "That bastard..."

"Ah~ You mermaid are all so beautiful. That outfit suits you well, Miss Nayoung." Nana said with her eyes glimmering with hearts.

"Thank you." Nayoung smiled at Nana.

"Lady Jangmi was always saying that she wanted to wear more clothes..." Nana was depressed, her eyes suddenly forms a tears as she recalled the last night event.

"Oh god why did you did such a cruel fate towards Lady Jangmi and Kookie." Nana said while showing her fist to the sky.

"It's not a god, it a demon." Yugyeom said while rolling his eyes. Nayoung patted Nana's head.

"You looked good." Yugyeom said to Nayoung sincerely.

"Is that so?" Nayoung replied without any emotion.

"Yes." Yugyeom replied back.

"By the way, did you ask for his highness permission before you depart?" Nana asked excitedly.

"Not a chance. But I'll just have to go without it." Yugyeom replied easily.

"I thought that would happen. Well, if you need any help from me, just give me a call." Nana said bowing to them then exited the room.

"Okay, thanks Nana."

After Nana went out, Yugyeom and Nayoung have a discussion about how to find both Jungkook and Jangmi. Nayoung suggested that they should searched fro the witch that sold the potion that turned her to a human. After their discussion, both of them prepared to go the the trip searching for Jungkook and Jangmi.

"Was Jangmi really a princess of the mermaid kingdom? She didn't say a single word about it" Yugyeom asked Nayoung curious.

"The mermaid kingdom existence is not widely known in the human world. Moreover, the princess was trying to hide the fact that she was a mermaid. She likely could not thin of a way to reconcile her station with her human appearance."

"Well. It's true that Lisa and my father would never believe she was a mermaid princess." Yugyeom nodded at that.

"At any rate, the princess has the elegance, grace, good look and ability to be expected of nobleman daughter. She was always the prettiest among her sisters, as well. Even when she was young, she had such cute habits. So much so that it was likely to sweep one away..." Nayoung explained with glimmer of hearts and admiration on her face.

Placing his chin on his left hand, "You sure like her, don't you?"

"That's why I want to meet this Prince Jungkook. Who was able to teach my precious princess love, enough to enable her to have a soul." Her smile and eyes were sincere and that make Yugyeom tongue tied.

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

"Hmm? No." Yugyeom said, "I was just thinking that you have a cute smile. It makes me feel a bit better." Yugyeom then went out to prepare for the trip.

"...cute...?" Nayoung cheek showed a slight blush.
