Chapter 23 : I'll wait

All the villager erupt into whispers.

"What does this mean?" "If we trade with the Southern Kingdom, they'll protect us?"

"No way!" Sana said. "I thought his memories weren't supposed to comeback?" She thought to herself.

"Don't decide such an arbitrary thing!" Mark shouted, feeling treated unfair, "Beside, I invaded first!"

"You're arbitrary one! Didn't you grumbling about taking over the world? I intend to personally complain to the Western Kingdom's king!" Jungkook fought with Mark.

"You bastard..." Mark whispered and sneakily tried to shoot Jungkook.

"That's just what I thought you'd say, Jungkook."

Mark and Jungkook were cut by Yugyeom.

"Yugyeom!" Jungkook were relieved.

"I was about to went for you here but then after I receive the message from Nana, we rushed to visit the Western Kingdom on your behalf. Mark, I have the letter here from your father." Yugyeom smirked at Mark.

"What? As if my father would admit the likes of you to his presence!" Mark said couldn't believe his ears.

"Get angry all you like, it's true." Yugyeom stick his tongue out at Mark. Meanwhile, Jackson took the letter and read it.

"Lets see. I'll read it so even your highness can understand it." Jackson said with a sarcastic tune.

"You've been wandering around where I can't find you for quite a while, doing what you want. Return home quietly, you idiot son of mine and prepare to have your head smashed in.That is all it says." Jackson looked at Mark then continued, "P.s, You should give Jackson a reward for putting up with you."

"Gggrhh.. The next time I set my eyes on you bastards....!" Mark glared at the twins.

"Withdraw! Evacuate the town!" Mark shouted to his army.

"You have my thanks Yugyeom, but I'm afraid I can't sit around and praise you right now." Jungkook seemed in rush.

"What's the hurry?" Yugyeom was puzzled.

"I've to hurry and retrieve the pearl!" Jungkook replied without looking at Yugyeom and went first at the cliff.

"What?! You don't have it?" Both Yugyeom and Nayoung were suprised.

"I'll explain later! V is going to stick his head in any moment now. I have to get it back before then!" Jungkook shouted and ran as fast as he could.

The witch tried to lift the curse that V has put on Jangmi. The curse were slowly removed and the pearl emitted a beautiful sea coloured light.

"With this, V's cure should be removed." The witch let out sigh of relieve.

"Take back your rightful form." The witch ordered the pearl, there shown the pearl slowly turned into Jangmi.

Jangmi blinked her eyes, "Who are you...?" She asked the witch.

"An ally. That's all you need to know." The witch gave a sincere smile towards her. "More importantly, your lover should be here soon." She continued.

"Ju-jungkook?!" Jangmi started to look around her.

"But... I don't see a way down here. Is he going to jump off the cliff?"

Her tears slowly dripped on her cheek.

"something as dangerous as that, it won't do any good to me at all..." she then stared at her semi transparent hand, "and... I've already died anyway... I'm no good for him like this. I- I just want him to be happy..." She cupped her face and sobbed.

"Are you really okay with that?" The witch asked her with concern.

The witch hold her hand and smiled warmly, "Hold onto your hopes. I'll help you out a little. Don't give up."

"Jangmi!" Jungkook voice were heard from up the cliff. "I'm coming for you! Wait for me!"

"I..."

Jangmi shouted from the top of her lung, "I'll wait! I'll wait forever if I have to!"

"I want to be together in joyful times..."

"and be there with him when times are bad..."

"I want us to struggle together even when we're not getting along..."

"I want us to be together, always!"

"I want to live a long life together, just like that."

"Haaa..." Sana sighed.

"The Western Kingdom's army is gone, but at this rate Zico will leave too. Everything's going to be exactly as it was before..." Sana were down.

"Hey, Sana! Are you going to the Southern Kingdom too?" Dahyun asked her.

"Huh? What?" Sana just realize Dahyun were next to her all the time.

"Well, Zico is a real prince, right? I bet he'll make you his princess!" Dahyun were excited.

Sana eyes went big, she forgot her lies with all the chaos just happen yesterday.

"Now that Zico got his memories back, all my lies are going to come out! I forgot everyone in the village believed them until now! But they'll never believe the truth. I have to do something. I have to do-"

"Sana? Are you listening?" Dahyun placed her hand on her shoulder.

Sana gasped, and thought of something wicked, "Of course. If Zico were to die, there'd be no problem. That way, no one will ever know. Maybe they'll even feel sorry for me."

Sana's eyes were dead, her face were pale and her thinking went out of rational.

"He just needs to die." She smiled creepily.

"Haa... Ha... Ha..." Yugyeom were out of breath. "Here you are." He said to Jungkook.

"Why is the pearl down the cliff?" Nayoung asked Jungkook.

"Sana threw the pearl away." Jungkook dryly replied. He explained what happened ever since he was sent there.

After a few minutes..

"I see... So this "Sana" chick threw away the pearl. But why would she lied to you about being her lover?" Yugyeom said with his finger on his forehead.

"I have no idea. But I have to find the pearl before V can come back and take it." Jungkook replied his brother and tied the rope to a strong tree.

"Make sense." Yugyeom said while nodding.

"But I'll be the one climbing down the cliff. You stay up here instead." Yugyeom ordered.

Jungkook turned his head towards Yugyeom and said, "What? Why?"

"If something happen happen to you, father will never forgive me... and eventhough we're twins, I'm your elder brother. I should be the one doing this dangerous stuff." Yugyeom said coolly.

"Yugyeom..." Jungkook said.
