"You should go to bed." the doctor says when my mom closes the door.

"Ok." I shrug.

I go to sleep and I am waken up by a blind light. I get up and see that the lights are on. I groan and look at the time. I rush out of bed in search of clothes. it's 6:19, and I think I'm going to school. Then I remember, no school, no mall, no movies, no nothing. I am trapped in this room for weeks, maybe even months, until I have recovered from the surgery on Sunday.

I go into a larger room and lay on the bed. They give me something and I pass out. I am assuming then, they started the surgery but I'm not sure. They wake me up and all I see is blurry figures standing over me. I am given some time alone until my vision clears up. They come back, lift me, and put me in a wheelchair. As soon as I get to the room, my mom, my friends, and Harry are all there. I am pleased because I didn't hear my mom yell at Harry from down the hall. they all stand up, like a salute, and smile. Once everyone , but the doctor, leaves, my mom comes over to me and hugs me in a weird way.

"How are you feeling?" she ask.

"She is not able to talk for now. But she will soon." the doctor says for me.

"Why not?"

"We gave her something that passed her out for too long. She will be able to talk again in maybe a week." he explains shaking his head and making hand gestures.

"Sarah. Your hair. It's.. short now."

"Yeah that is one thing about the surgery." The doctor says.

"Oh." he says and walks to the window looking out of the medical center.

The doorknob wiggled. then someone knocked on the door. My mom stood up and opened the door. It turns out, Zayn was coming over to see me. I was really happy because we haven't talked for a while. The last time i saw him was when I matched him up with Laila. That was before I got cancer. So it was about two months ago. He hugs me and talks about how his life has been going.

"I applied for a job." he says.

"So did I." I turn my attention to Harry.

I look at him in confusion.

He shakes his head. "it's at that fro-yo place down the road from school."

I give him a 'congrats!' smile.

"When?" Steph asked.

"Only a little bit after Sarah was diagnosed."

"And you've kept it a secret?" Aisleen butts in.

"Guys calm down."

My mom gets out of the chair she was sitting in. She comes to me and tells me something.

"Looks like I was wrong about Styles over here."

I motion the letters 'w' 'h' then 'y' with my arms and hands.

"He is saving up. For an apartment or house for the both of you. He really does love you." she says and walks back to the chair.

I lay there with my mouth partly open, trying to process the things my mom had just told me.
