Chapter 7

“So class, how is the project going so far?” Mr.Martin asked after the week ended.

Dead silence.

“Okay then. Roc.. how is your’s going?”

“Just fine, we got everything down packed.” He answered with a grin.

“That’s what i want to hear! And Lesley?” Mr.Martin asked with a smile.

“W-well, Umm..w-what happen is-”

“We have a little going over but we’re getting there Sir.” He said, saving his girlfriend.

She silently prayed and smiled at him.

“You’re welcome” he mouthed to her.

“Alright, class is dissmissed.” He annonanced.

“Ray!” Lesley yelled out.

Immediatly he stopped and smiled.

“Yes, babe?”

“Webcam tonight? We need to start doing it for real this time.” She said with a serious face.

“But I can’t… why can’t I just come over like the last time?” He asked.

“why not? And I don’t know Ray…”

“Because I can’t, my laptop is being used by my parents this whole week. & Why the hell you say “I don’t know?” He said angrily.

“Because I don’t know!” She exclaimed.

“What aren’t you telling me, Les?” He said with pleading eyes. “You know you can tell me anything right?”

“Y-yeah. I know baby. I gotta go, sorry.” She quickly kissed him and walked away.

Shaking his head, he headed straight to his boys.

“Hey, what’s up Ray?” Prod said.

“What’s wrong?” Roc asked.

“What’s up you’re butt?” Princeton said with a snicker.

“Lesley acting all funny, she’s hiding stuffing tonight.” He mumbled.

“Want me to ask Anita about it?” Prodigy asked with concern.

“Let’s go together. Y’all can come if you want.” He quickly said and followed Prodigy to his girlfriend.

“Lesley, pass the fries please dear.” Her mother said with a smile.

“Yes, Mother” She mumbled.

“What did i tell you about mumbling to us? That’s disrespectful” Her father fussed.

“Sorry, Father” She said clear.

“What is the matter? We just got here yesterday. We’ll only be staying for the week so make the best of it please.”

“Nothing is the matter. I know and i’m sorry.” She said.

“How is School? Any new dancing?” Her mom asked.

“Yes, i have a partner.” She said with a smile.

“Oh? Why the smile? Who is this person?” Her father stirred in his chair and lean forward.

“No One Daddy-” She quickly answered until she heard knocks on the door.

“Were you expecting someone?” Her dad said, pushing his chair back.

“U-Um dad. No; i’ll get it!” She yelled and tripped out of her chair.

“Excuse me young lady!” Her mom exclaimed.

Her dad slowly opened up the door and there he was…Ray Ray.

“Hello, Is Lesley home?” She heard him asked.

Pulling the door open, She pushed Ray out the door and closed the door behind her.

“Ray! What are you doing here?” She yelled.

“The hell? I came over to see why was you acting so funny, Who was that guy Les?” He asked.

“No one, Why didn’t you call first?” She said and folded her arms.

“WTF? Now i have to call first to come see my girlfriend? What kind of mess is this?” He threw his arms up and let them fall.

“Ray, don’t start.”

“Don’t start? Why are YOU mad? you’re not the one who is being lied too or keeping secrets, i tell you everything and yet you can’t do the same. Forget this Lesley. I tried, I FOUGHT FOR YOU.” He said.

Shaking his head, He tried to walk away but her arm stopped him.

“NO, Ray. It’s not that.”

“Then what the hell is it?” He asked in a pleading tone.

“It’s not you, It’s me…” She whispered.

“Really, Lesley..Really? That line? Okay.” He laughed and walked away.

Then she heard the front door open and saw a shadow “Quien es?”

Looking back, she answered him “No one.”

Then walked back into the house.

“Who was that, Lesley? And don’t lie to me.”

“Just a friend.”

“Just a friend? Why couldn’t he call first? Or come meet us?”

“Because, I’M SHAME OF YOU TWO. HOW YOU ACT, AND HOW RUDE YOU ARE. HOW EVERYTHING HAS TO GO YOU’RE WAY OR NO WAY AT ALL. I’M TIRED OF IT. THAT WAS MY BOYFRIEND, Daddy and Mommy. My boyfriend who just left me because i was too scared to introduce him to you guys, because of how unkind you are. It’s ashame how bad you are. And i’m sick of it. Goodnight”

“Lesley, come back here this instant!” Her Dad called after her.

Slamming her door, She ran to her bed and fall on it.

The tears she’s been holding for so long; finally rushed out.

The next day, It was Ray who was avoiding her.

“I know how bad they are but baby, you have to introduce them to him. You know that hurt his ego and pride.” Anita whispered to Lesley.

“I know, I know. You should of saw his face, Anita…it was bad…full of hurt and disappointment.” She said with her hands on her face.

“Awe, poor Ray Ray. Do you have a plan?” She ask.

“Actually, i do…” She said then she saw Ray Ray passed by their lunch table.

“Ray!” She yelled out for him.

“Yeah?” He said emotionless.

“I-I’m…”

“I don’t wanna hear it, Lesley. Not now.” He shook his head at her and walked away.

Fine, if you wanna play hard to get; i’ll play hard to forget.

After school, She walked to Ray’s house.

Breathing in and out, She slowly knocked on the door.

Finally it opened…To see very confused Ray’s Mom.
