"Sometimes I wonder how it was possible... How could I have seen you less than 12 hours before you left me - left everyone? It's like... one minute, we're laying in the grass with the sun on our skin, reflecting into your beautiful eyes. And then you leave my house because it's getting late. You kiss me, you get in your car, you drive off. And everything is normal.

Night time rolls around, we FaceTime each other, you go into Grayson's room; everything is light. Everything is happy. Everything is still normal.

Eventually, you get tired and you go back to your room, you get into your bed and you say goodnight like you always do. You tell me you love me and remind me you'll never leave me, and you hang up. That's it. Happy and normal. I gush to Aaliyah about how happy I am with you and eventually I go to bed with a smile on my face. A good, normal day.

And then I get the call. And it's three in the morning and my mind is still picking apart reality from my dreams when I see Grayson's name on my phone screen. He tells me in a voice I can barely make out through his tears, that you had a seizure, that you're on the way to the hospital in an ambulance and that I need to hurry and come too because he's never seen it so bad. And my heart stops. And my world falls. And suddenly nothing is normal anymore."
