Three weeks later
"Hey, Alex?" Katie says.
"Yes, sweetheart?" Alex says.
"Before school starts up again, would you like to go on vacation with my family and I?"
"I'd love to, but are your parents okay with me going?"
"I already talked to them about it and they'd love to have you."
"Okay, so where are we going?"
"California."
"Okay. Wait, do they know about us?"
"They do wanna talk to you about it tomorrow."
"Got it. One more question, when are we leaving?"
"Next week."
"Okay."
The next day Katie and Alex went out with Katies parents to dinner to talk about their relationship. When they got there, Alex's mom was also there.
"Mom?"
"Hi."
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see you, Katie here told me to come."
"Katie, can I talk to you outside, please?"
"Uh, sure."
Katie and Alex walk out of the coffee shop to have a private conversation.
"Katie, why did you invite my mother?"
"You haven't talked to her in a while so, I thought I'd let you two catch up."
"She hates me, remember, she kicked me out of the house."
"She was upset that you kept that from her, Alex."
Alex was silent.
"Listen, Alex, if you don't want to talk to them today, then we can do it another time, I guess."
"You know what, no. You've been looking forward to this, so we are gonna go in there and talk."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, and then after we will go back to the house and pack for our vacation."
"Okay."
Katie and Alex walk back into the coffee shop, sit down with Katie parents and Alex's mom and have a nice conversation.
After two hours of talking everyone left back to their houses. When Katie and Alex got back to theirs, they had some old friends of theirs sitting on their couch.
