Y/n pov
Today I was visiting my boyfriend in Wyoming. His father owned a big farm. He was the country boy. I on the other hand, lived in the suburbs next to my states capital. We had two different lives. I just hope his family will like me.

I knocked on his front door and waited. "Hey baby." He smiled and picked me up when he opens the door. I kissed him. "I missed you." He said. "I missed you too." I smiled. "So do I get to meet them?" I asked. "Ya were gonna have lunch with them and you can meet them today and then tonight I thought you could meet my friends." He said. "That's kinda scary but sure." I said. "They'll love ya." He said. His accent was so attractive.
We walked inside his house and I sat my bags down. I'll be staying with them for 3 days and two nights. "Mom! Dad! Y/n here!" Jordan yelled. "Oh hi you must be brooke! It's nice to meet you." His mom came in smiling. "Hi, mrs.hollen." I smiled. "Hi y/n it's nice to see you finally here!" His dad said coming in now. "Hi sir." I smiled. "Well let's eat lunch then we'll take your stuff upstairs." His mom smiled. I nodded and jordan walked we to their dining room. "Hotdogs and salad." His mom said bringing in food. "So y/n, does your family own a farm?" His dad asked. "Uh no my Moms cousins do but not me." I said. "Do you live out in the country? Your from Texas?" His mom asked. "Uh no Michigan actually and no I live in a neighborhood. Suburbs really." I nodded. "Oh." His dad said. "That's ok she loves horses and loves baby cows." Jordan joked. Hed would always send me pictures of the baby cows his family owned, and they were adorable. I laughed about what he said. "Oh well." His mom smiled. I could tell they weren't very pleased.

"Um jordan help us clean up please. Y/n your room is the last one of the right, you'll see it there's a sunflower painting on the wall." His mom said. "Ok thank you." I smiled and walked to the front door to grab my bags.

When I got done putting my bags upstairs I waited for jordan by the kitchen entrance. He couldn't see me. "Mom it doesn't matter that she doesn't own a farm or whatever!" He said. "Does she even know how to shoot a gun?! She's probably never shot one in her life!" His dad said. "Does she know respect? She is nothing like the girls here! What is so wrong with the girls here?" His mom asked. "What? The cowgirl boots and accent and don't care if they get muddy, or shooting guns! I like y/n because she isn't like that." He said getting angry. "Um I'm done unpacking." I said walking in so they could see me. No one said anything. I turned around and walked out. "Y/n wait!" I heard. I stopped. "Sorry I can't meet their standards." I sighed. Jordan hugged me. "Baby you don't have to. I don't care if they don't like you. And you shouldn't either, it's just us right now. Their not in the relationship we are." He said. "I know I know." I sighed. "Maybe I could meet your friends now?" I asked. He smiled. "Sure." He grabbed his keys and I grabbed mine. We were gonna drive separate. It was just easier I said but really if this didn't go well I needed to get in my jeep and drive away.
We pulled up to a medium sized house with a bunch of grass around it. I got out. "This is my friend cobys house. Him, his girlfriend, my other friend john and his girlfriend, along with tony and his girlfriend are gonna be here." He said. "And they all know each other?" I asked. "Yes we do and it will be ok alright." He smiled and we walked to the door.
"Hey jordan!" His friend said. "Your y/n? It's nice to meet you." He said. "Y/n this is Tony, that over there is John and this is coby!" Jordan said. "Hi." I smiled. "Oh this is my girlfriend Julia." Tony said. "Hi." I waved. "That's Johns girlfriend kasey, and that's cobeys girlfriend Jessie." Tony said. "Hi girls." I smiled at them.

"So y/n you ever been to a truck pull?" Jessica asked me. "Nope." I said. "Are you from the country?" John asked. "Uh no." I said. It was silent. I wasn't having fun here. At all. This was not working for me. "Um I gotta go I have work I gotta do." I said. "Oh what do you do?" Tony asked. "I manage this big business for my dad." I said. "Oh really what one?" Tony smiled. "My dad makes beer and owns a huge beer business in the Midwest." I said. I nodded my head and walked out. I wanted to cry. I don't even manage my dads business, nor does he have one! "Baby! Y/n!" I heard behind me. I didn't stop walked. I got in my jeep and immediately backed out and sped down the road. Why does no one understand that just because I haven't done certain things people would do out here doesn't mean I wouldn't like them. Going to a farm and a truck pull those sound fine! But to everyone else I'm just an idiot.
I pulled into town and stopped at a bank parking lot. Im so upset and mad. My phone started to ring. I looked down and saw jordan calling. I sighed and picked it up. "Hello." I said into the phone. "Y/n I'm sorry, they don't hate you no one hates you! I love you I've loved you for so long! Please let's just go talk. You and I." He said. "I love you too....your parents hate me." I said starting to cry. "Baby where are you?" He asked. "I'm a bank parking lot." I said. "Please just come back to my house. You and I will sit in my truck and we can talk." He said. "Ok." I said. I hung up the phone and started the car up again.

-in his truck-
I sat there in the passenger seat looking down. I heard him sigh. "I wanna talk to your parents." I said out of nowhere. "What?" He asked. "You heard me." I said looking at him with a small smile. "I'm gonna be the bigger person and I'm going to talk to them." I said getting out of the car. Jordan quickly followed after me. "Oh hi y/n." His mom said right as I walked in. "Hi I want to speak to you and your husband." I smiled. She looked confused but nodded.

We sat down at the table. Jordan and I next to each other with his parents on the other side.
"So far my time here hasn't been good. I understand im very different from girls your older son and maybe family has been with. And probably the girls around here. I don't live on a farm, I've never shot a gun, I don't own a truck. And you wanna know what played such a role in those things. My parents. I don't have a dad to do things with me. He left me! My mom works hard and still manages to be their for us all the time. I get im a lot different, but I would love to do things that you guys do here. Jordan told me about truck pulls and he shot a gun. I wouldn't mind going and trying new things. Jordan and I are together and I'm sorry if you think I can't deal with whatever or why you think I'm not a good girl for him. But I love him and I'm not leaving because you guys didn't give me a chance." I said. "Oh honey. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. We need to give you a chance. I'm glad you love my son." She smiled. "Thank you." I smiled at her. "Dad?" Jordan asked. "I'm sorry you have no dad in your life. And I'm sorry we didn't give you a chance in the beginning." He smiled. I smiled back. "Were gonna go and I'm gonna show her around town ok?" Jordan asked standing up. "Have fun." His mom said. I stood up and we walked out. "You think it went ok?" I asked. "Their gonna love ya." Jordan smiled leaning down to kiss me.
