It was a special day today. To you anyways. To others and most likely the celebrant, may not even find today special at all. Kill joys.

You had delivered Grimmjow's bento lunch today as usual, and he had noticed that you seemed happier then usual.

"Happy birthday." You said with a smile, placing the bento on Grimmjow's desk.
"Yeah, thanks." Grimmjow answered plainly. He obviously didn't care.
"You don't seem happy." You mentioned.
"It's just a birthday. Who the fuck cares?"

Returning home, it almost felt like a waste all that you had done. You stared at the newly baked cake you had just taken out.

"It's just a birthday." You mentioned as you began to decorate the cake.

Grimmjow walked into shop late that day from work. He had even wondered if you were mad at him for coming home late. He hoped you didn't think he was doing things behind your back again.

But he had walked into the kitchen, only to find you with your head down on the table, sleeping. You had stayed up waiting for him, again.

Grimmjow looked on the table and noticed the leftover dinner wrapped in clear wrap. It was his favourite too, steak. And beside his dinner, a small cake covered with vanilla icing, with 'Happy Birthday Grimmjow' nicely written on top and a poorly drawn picture of a cat.

To Grimmjow, a birthday was just another day. But to you, a birthday was something to celebrate.

"Thanks." Grimmjow whispered as he had picked you up in his arms, taking you upstairs to sleep.

To Grimmjow, he didn't celebrate today as the day he was created. He celebrated it as the day he met you.
