I run to the front door and throw it open, bursting through it I wrap my arms around Jason's neck and squeeze him tightly. I forgot how good he smelt!

He hugs me back and after a few more seconds we brake apart. "Hey, Elena. I want you to meet someone." I smile a bright smile and look to my right where he points.

"This is Becky, my, ah, my girlfriend." What?!
****

"B-Becky?" Nope, no, no, it can't possibly be happening. I look from Jason to Becky, then back to Jason. I don't have a clue how to feel right now, was Jason avoiding me because he has a girlfriend? Is he here to say he doesn't want to be my friend anymore?

As his bestfriend, shouldn't I be happy for him? Congratulating him that he has someone to love, someone to love him?

I feel - I feel, I don't even know how I feel. I want to cry, and I especially want to hurt Becky. But for what? The jealousy inside me is talking, it wants me to feel hurt and pain.

But why? It's not like I think of Jason in that way? Do I? No, of course I don't. I love him as a friend, nothing more.

I clear my throat, clearing the lump that sits in the back and send a warm smile to Becky. Is that short for something?

"Hi." I want to run and hide, I don't feel right. I look back over at Jason. He stands awkwardly holding her hand, what's up with him?

"Nice to meet you, Elena." Becky greets, gosh, she's perfect - no wonder Jason is dating her. She has these crystal blue eyes, long curly blonde hair, a perfect skinny figure. She's stunning as much as I'd hate to admit it.

"Please, come in." I walk them into the lounge room and we all take a seat on the couch. Jason and Becky on one couch, while I sit across from them on the other.

"You okay, ba - Elena." Babe, he was about to call me babe. He always used to call me that, now he would probably get slapped by bitchy - I mean Becky.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just glad to see you. Where have you been for the last two weeks, I've missed my best friend." He takes a quick glance down at his intwined hands and looks back up at me.

"I've been...occupied." I nod my head and don't ask anything of it, it's none of my business anyway.

"So, Jason's told me a lot about you." Becky speaks, trying to spark up a conversation in this awkward silence.

"All good things I hope." I mumble, I'm not really in the mood for talking at the moment. I don't understand why I'm feeling like this.

"Of course, he's told me about how great of a friend you are. And how you're going through chemo therapy at the moment. I'm really sorry about that."

"It's fine. Jason's been with me every step of the way." A small smile lights up on his face, and he sits back nodding his head.

"How are you feeling now?" Jason asks, his voice low and quiet. It's like he's afraid to talk to me.

"I'm fine, I really think that this Chemo therapy is working. I don't have as much dizzy spills anymore, so I'm guessing that's a good thing."

"I'm glad, Elena."

"Yeah. Would you guys like anything? A drink, maybe something to eat? Mum made cupcakes. You know what, I'll just go get us some food anyway." I leave the tension filled room and enter the kitchen. Grabbing bags of chips and blocks of chocolate. I also place some double chocolate cupcakes onto a plate and walk back into the lounge room, setting them on the table.

"Elena, are these cupcakes almond milk based?" What? We don't even own almond milk!

"Uhm, no, I don't believe so."

"Oh."

"Are they low fat?" Pft. No.

"No. they are just normal chocolate cupcakes." What is she? A diabetic?

"Do you have anything, I don't know? Low fat, milk free, sugar free, gluten free...healthy?"

"I'll see what I can do." I mumble, my eyes fixed straight into hers. What am I? Her waitress! I march into the kitchen and pull out a nut bar from the cupboard.

"This is all we have, sorry if it doesn't fit your standards." She takes the nut bar from my hands and examines it.

"Oh. Thanks, Elena, but I don't like nuts."

"Then eat the fucking cupcakes." Oh my gosh, what did I just say? I never swear - ever. However, Becky has me so angry that I just said the 'f' word. I know, I know. I'm sounding like a two year old, what sixteen year old doesn't swear? Me! My mum doesn't have a thing against me swearing, but she sure did raise me better.

I take a seat on the couch and take in a deep breath. "Becky, I ah, I'm really sorry for my outburst. I don't ever usually swear."

"That's okay, Elena, I'm sorry for being such a horrible guest." I look over at Jason. He sends Becky a smile and rubs her thigh with his hand.

"Look. I'm sorry but I think it's best if you guys leave, I'm actually starting to feel a bit dizzy, some rest would be nice right now."

"Yeah, Elena of course." Jason is the first to stand, Becky straight after. He lets go from their intwined hands and he wraps his arms around me, giving me a hug. "I love you, Elena. You're my best friend." He whispers in my ear, as if he's hoping Becky can't hear. After an awkward farewell with Becky, I wave the couple off and watch as their car speeds away into the distance.

Just as my foot hits the first step on the stair case, the doorbell is rung, maybe they forgot something? I groan not wanting to see Becky again and fling open the door.

"Hello?" I ask at the stranger who is definitely not Jason or Becky.

"Elena Hamilton?" He asks, his facial features so recognisable, do I know this man? It's like I've seen him before, but where?

"Yeah, do I know you?"

"Actually, yes. I'm- I'm your father."
