"So, what was it?" I asked Josh as he came down the stairs. He just smiled and shrugged.
"It was nothing there" he said, smiling. But I doubt that he was telling the truth. Sofia always used to point out to me when people lied, telling me to look properly. The most common way to see if someone was lying was the blushing. Then it was the blinking, or if they fiddled with their hands. The last one, that matched Josh right now, was not focusing the eyes on anything. He was looking everywhere at once.
"Alright" I still said, wondering why he lied. What was upstairs? Or maybe it was who...

"It can't be" I told him and he agreed by shaking his head.

We stood there for a few minutes, the two laughters didn't stop. Instead it increased into small voices too, they were playing with Melody's pet shops, weren't they?

"Shouldn't you check if your daughter is hanging out with a ghost?" I asked Simon and he nodded, slowly taking a step towards the door. I followed him. Taking a step as well. Simon reached for the handle, his hand shaking as he did so. He was looking really worried. He turned it and slowly opened the door...
