I looked at the brunette girl who Lewis had introduced as his girlfriend. First she had just been sitting beside Lewis without saying a word, then she stuttered a lot while talking to Landon, but not while talking with Lewis or Simon. She seemed familiar, I knew I had seen her before.
It took me until she went and talked with Mel until I understood everything. Everything landed right in my brain. I knew who she was, she was the same girl that had been at Simon's. That hair wasn't real hair, it was a wig. And the mask she was wearing wasn't because she's sick or whatever excuse Lewis had used, it was because she was hiding who she was.
I went to her and put a hand on her shoulder, getting her attention. She looked up to me before standing up.
"I think we need to speak Sophie" I told her and nodded to the empty balcony. She agreed and followed me so we could speak. I had to know if I was right.
I shut the door carefully when we had reached the balcony. Then I came and stood right infront of her, she was standing with her back to the windows.
"It's a beautiful view tonight" she began nodding to the view behind the balcony railing.
"Sure, but I didn't take you out here to speak of a view" I told her before nodding to a pair of chairs out here. "Take a seat" I said, then we both took a seat out here and sat down.
"So what seems to be the matter Jerome?" she asked me, probably wanting to know why I had dragged her from the party.
"I don't know why it took such a long time, I knew the moment I saw you run past us at Simon and Jide's that I had seen you before. I knew you seemed familiar at once.
I began putting everything together, from Landon and Simon telling us about Mel not being allowed to move the bat, to the bat being thrown in, to the picture that you gave Landon" I started to explain, looking directly at her.
"Then I heard you speak, there was the last clue. I will forever remember the voice of the person that killed my family, threatened my friends and me, dated my best friend's cousin, apologized for everything, then died" I finished putting both my hands to her face, taking her mask of her so I could see her face.
"Welcome back Sofia"
