I still sat beside Lewis after his new girlfriend, Sophie, had left us. I frowned again, trying to think about why she ran off. I also tried figuring out where I could've met her before, it would probably be easier if she didn't have that mask on. She sounded familiar, every thing about her was familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
"So, what was that?" I asked Lewis and he shrugged.
"She get's nervous quickly, a bit shy" he told me, looking after her. "She'll be fine though" he promised. Then silently mumbled something I couldn't quite understand, but I let it go.
"Where did you two meet?" I then asked, still trying to figure out where I had met her, because I had met her. I knew it. She seemed way to familiar to just be someone I happened to meet on the street.
"Ehm, funny story that. We met at... Ehm... Starbucks. I was there with uhm... Josh a while ago and it was ehm... full. But she had a table all to herself and offered us to sit down with her" he told me, not sounding all to sure about what he was saying. I was never so unsure when I answered that question about me and Sofia.
"Oh, that's cool. She's from London?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"Ehm, not really. She's from Leeds" he told me, still not really sounding all too sure.
"Leeds? Who's from Leeds?" Simon suddenly asked.
"Sophie" I replied.
"Oh, intresting. Does she like football?" he asked Lewis, who just shrugged.
"I don't know, we hasn't spoken about sport yet" Lewis replied him. Then suddenly Sophie was back.
Sophie just stared at me and Simon for awhile.
"Hello, you're Simon right?" she asked Simon with a smile. "I'm Sophie" she then explained.
"Oh, nice to meet you" Simon replied with a bright smile.
"We were just speaking of you" Lewis then told his girlfriend.
"Oh, really? What did you say?" she asked and Lewis shrugged.
"Just told them you were from Leeds and that I don't know if you like football" Lewis explained.
"Oh, I'm not from Leeds silly. I have some family there" she told Lewis, giving him a silly smile. "And I don't like football that much, I don't see the point of running around with a ball" she told us, I looked over to Simon who was frowning.
"That sounds quite exactly like what my sister used to say" he commented, that's when I got it. She sounded like Sofia, that's why she seemed familiar. And when Simon said that, Sophie froze looking over at Lewis, then around the room.
"I'm gonna go say hello to the kids. I love kids" she said quickly and rushed away. Lewis just stared after her, almost looking panicked. Trying to get her attention without saying anything, but she didn't look back.
"Was it something I said?" Simon asked, sounding confused.
"No, she does that" Lewis said, but this time I knew he was lying. I knew that something wasn't right. I knew that the girl, Sophie, somehow wasn't who she said she was.
"So, when did you say you met her?" I asked him.
"A few days ago" Lewis said, not looking at me, but he blinked probably seven times. He was lying, but I played along.
"Cool, she seems quite cool. Reminds me of Sofia" I told him, just to see his reaction. He froze right there. I frowned, who was that girl?
"Did they ever find her body by the way? I never heard" Ethan suddenly joined our conversation too.
"No" I began, still looking at Lewis, then to Sophie, wondering if that was the same girl that was at Simon and JJ's house earlier. "They didn't" I finished, looking back to Lewis. "Do you know something too? Like Josh does" I asked him, he didn't move.
"N-No, not at all" he replied, he still didn't move, his eyes were wandering around everywhere though. He didn't seem to know where to look or what to do. "But Josh is probably right, it's probably for our best to not know" he continued, then he stood up.
"I just remembered a thing I was going to tell Tobi, I'll see you later" Lewis excused himself and rushed away. He defiently knew something, and so did probably that girl. Something tells me that she doesn't have the mask because of some sort of sickness, but because she is afraid we will recognize her.
