I took a deep breath as I closed the door to Melody's room. She had just fallen asleep, Rose and Hedge standing on the nightstand and all cuddled up to her stuffed animals. She really loved all sort of animals so much. It was no surprise that she actually loved the fables. Listening as I read her stories about Horses, cows, foxes or other animals. It was just so fun seeing her shining brightly while she listened.

Right when I came down the stairs again and entered the big kitchen I noticed a face near the window, on the outside. She looked directly back at me, not moving a muscle, the bored expression on her face not leaving.

"What date is it?" I asked, wondering if it was because we were so close to the six year mark. But I knew it was still two months left before it was. Three months until Sofia's 25th birthday and five until Melody's 6th.

"25th of May" Josh replied simply while looking at his phone.

"25th? Exactly 2 months left..." Preston thought out loud. Yeah. The accident happened on the 25th of July. Maybe it was close enough for her to start haunting us? Was it because I never told her I forgave her? Is that her unfinished business?

I noticed how she didn't move, she just continued to stare at me. But I said nothing as I sat down, feeling her eyes burning in my back. I joined the chat with the boys, which now was just talking about how lit Upload would be in september. Yeah, we still did that.

The next morning when I woke up I found myself looking out the window, no one was there. Of course not. It was just me hallucinating last night, she had been gone for years. I just missed her, a lot.

The day then continued as normal, us going to visit some friends and playing with Mel in the garden. Having her play football with us was the best feeling in the world, 'cause she loved it. But only if Landon played too, because apparently he was as bad as she was, her words not mine.

It didn't seem like a special day, until when Landon, Melody and I played with her pet shops (on her command), I was about to play with the bat one when Mel stopped me.

"Not that one Papi. We can't move that one" she told me simply.

"Why not?" I asked, preparing for the answer probably being that it was asleep. But Mel's answer shocked me.

"Because she said not to move it until she came back" Melody told me simply and then continued playing. Who's she? What does she mean.

"Who told you that?" Landon questioned and Melody just shrugged.

"I'm not allowed to say" she explained and then made us continue to play. What? Why isn't she allowed to say.

Later, when Mel had gone to bed. Me and Landon told the others.

"I mean, she's a child with a big imagination. It might have been just her toys who told her" Jide shrugged it off like it was nothing. But he wasn't there. The toys are always there, who wouldn't be there?

"Maybe you're right" Landon agreed, but he looked at me like he didn't really mean it. Because he knew too that something wasn't right...
