We were all watching what happened between Josh and Landon carefully, not really knowing what was happening. I knew we had to stop it before one of them got hurt, but for now I wanted an answer just as much as Landon did.
"Ow!" Josh suddenly exclaimed, then the sound of something falling on the floor was heard. I looked down on the floor right infront of me, the bat that Mel had told us not to move. Landon let go of Josh and stared at it too.
"That's the bat we couldn't move" he mumbled as he stared at it.
"Who threw that?" Preston questioned, no one answered. No one knew.
"Everyone is in here and Mel isn't home. That thing came from the hallway" Jide commented, I frowned. The kitchen door was closed, where did that thing come from?
"Are you sure this place isn't haunted?" Lachlan asked, I nodded. I'm sure it wasn't. Then again, many weird things had happened since saturday."We should probably go check" I spoke and everyone agreed, going towards the door.
The hallway was empty, so we went away to different rooms, me going to the living room downstairs, Landon to the other living room at the other side of the room and Josh going to the tv-room right beside the kitchen.
When I came back to the living room after checking in the living room on this side Mitch and Josh was looking into the same room, Mitch speaking to Landon who I guessed was in the room. So I walked over to listen.
"I think I saw someone in here" I heard Landon say when I reached them."I'm not sure it is a smart choice to go there..." Josh sounded worried. Landon took another step towards the sofa that was furthers away from the door.
"Why not Josh?" I asked, hearing JJ say it at the same time. So l turned around and noticed him standing beside me, he put a hand on my shoulder and we all looked inside.
"Yeah, why not?" Jerome asked, we were suddenly all looking as Landon walked further inside the room.Suddenly someone ran right towards us, hands hiding her face, Josh moved so she could run past him.
"What the..!?" I exclaimed right before she was out in the corridor, I looked after her confused of my mind.
"Mitch, stop her!" Landon was the first to react. Then Mitch held the girl by her arm. She reacted quickly and hid her face with her hair so we couldn't see her. Who was she? What was she doing in my house? How did she even get in?
"Let me go" the girl's voice was somewhat familiar, but still not really. She spoke very strictly, like she was irritated. I would too if I got caught in the middle of someones home and couldn't run. The only different was that I wouldn't break in.
"Mitch let the poor girl go" Josh begged, Mitch didn't listen. He just stared at the girl with a frown.
"You are the girl from the park, aren't you?" Mitch asked her, she just nodded. Staying quiet. "What are you doing here?" he then questioned her.
"She was probably just lost" Josh tried again, I hushed him quickly. I wanted to know why she was in my home, and how she got in.
Landon began walking closer to the girl and Mitch.
"What's you name?" Preston asked coming down the stairs, he had checked upstairs. The girl said nothing. Landon reached the girl and put his hand up, probably to stroke the hair out her face. She relaxed and fell to the floor, Mitch lost his grip around her arm as she did that. She then quickly hugged Landon's legs.
"Don't" she whispered. Landon looked to us, confusion in his eyes.
"Why not? Why can't you show us your face?" he asked her."You are frightening her, can't you see that?" Josh asked us, I shook my head.
"She broke into our home" I reminded him, the one thing I wanted to know was who she was.
"I was just trying to stop you from killing Josh. You've already lost someone close to you once" she whispered again before letting Landon go and standing up, her hair still hiding her face, looking at the ground.
"What do you know about Sofia Minter?" Landon asked strictly.
"Much more than you would ever believe. You would be surprised" Josh replied for her.
"Is she some crazy fan?" JJ asked and the girl shook her head.
"I wish it was that simple" she spoke, moving her head up a little bit so she could see around her "Let me go" she asked, her hair still doing a way too good job to hide her face.
"Tell us who you are" Mitch replied to her.
"I'm afraid to scare you" she told us. She then opened her jacket up and put her hand inside it.
"What is she doing?" Lachlan asked.
"Does she have a gun?" Jerome wondered. Then she took out a frame, not showing us what it was.
"Is that a framed picture?" I questioned and she nodded before handing it to Landon.
"Where did you get this?" Landon asked her. That's when she ran. This time we weren't quick enough to catch her.
"Preston!" Jide shouted, pointing her way but she threw the door open and continued to run down the street. I quickly started to run after her, and so did everyone else. We ran as quickly as we could to get to her. But she was out of our sight before we reached her. Josh and Lewis were the only ones that continued to run. I would surely ask Josh lots of questions later. He had some answering to do, that was for sure.
