Chapter 7

'Uh oh' I though when I saw Kurapika's face.

"How do you know Rythem?" He asks. I could tell he was pissed, because of his tone.

"She's a friend! She lived a few houses down from my old house so she stayed over when her house exploded!!!" I explain.

"Where did you go with her?! and what did she do to you!! Look at your hands!" He shouts.

'Shoot! I had scratched my hands training with her! How did I not notice?!'

"Well??" Kurapika demands.

"WHY ARE YOU SO MAD?!?! ALL SHE WAS DOING WAS TEACHING ME HOW TO PROTECT MYSELF!!" I shout.

Kurapika seemed surprised at my harsh tone but I didn't care. I ran into his bedroom, slammed the door and buried my face in his pillow and screamed.

That helped me calm down a little bit... I stood up and looked around. I never realized how empty his room was. I stared at the walls for a while and soon fell asleep (on the bed).

~ The next day ~

Sunlight streaming through the windows woke me up. I stretched my arms and yawned. After trying to wake myself up more I got ready to go.

Kurapika was still asleep on the couch. 'Weird' I thought. 'He's not the type of person to sleep in..'

I walked up to the couch and woke him up. "Oi!! Sleepyhead we're gonna be late!" I say. He shoots up and rushes to his bedroom.

Soon enough we were sitting in our usual seats in the classroom. Kurapika had been awfully quiet this morning. I pushed the thought off, he was probably just thinking of Phantom Troupe again.

I began doing my work but got distracted for a while because Feitan was glaring at me.

- After class (Author POV)

"SHUT THE HELL UP" Kurapika yells at Feitan while lunging at him. The two boys fighting and trying not to destroy anything.

Meanwhile on the other side of the school...

"Janie? I need to tell you something.." Isobel says.

"Sure, what is it?" I reply.

"We have to go?"

"Why, and where?!"

"Ill tell you after and we are going to Yorkshin"

"Okay" I say half jumping out of my skin when I hear a loud crash. Isobel and I run towards the noise and find both boys glaring at each other.

I grab Kurapika's wrist and drag him home.

"What happened?! What was that loud crash?" I ask.

"Tsk. He was staring at you... More like glaring..." He says spacing out.

I felt nervous. Kurapika never cared about that kind of thing before.

"OMIGOSH I NEED TO GO MEET RYTHEM!!" I shout. I give him a quick hug and set off.

"So what's the cup with a leaf supposed to do?" I question.

"It's a test to see what type of Nen you have" Rhythm replies.

"Okay! Now what do I do?"

She takes my hands and puts them one on each side about 3 inches from the cup.

"Now focus all your Nen into this cup" she explains.

After about 10 minutes she tells me to stop.

"Nothing happened.." I say disappointed.

"Just wait!" Se dips her finger in the water and tastes it. "You're a Transmuter, Janie!"

"Huh? Lemme taste the water" I say dipping my finger in. "Wow, it's sweet!"

"Yes, but not very sweet.. You must work on that.. Do this everyday with a glass of water and don't come back till its sweeter than honey!" She demands.

"Oh! Wait I'm going to Yorkshin.."

"Don't worry! That's where the Nostrades are!"
