The next day, you and Newt walk to breakfast holding hands. You take a seat at your usual table next to each other, unaware of everyone staring at you. You pass him a drink and in return he kisses you on the cheek "erm guys? Is there something you want to share with the rest of the group?" Thomas intervenes.
"Yeah, I'm in love with Y/N and last night Alby accepted our relationship, so all you guys better back off!" Newt calls out to the rest of the gladers.
At first everyone was too shocked to say anything, but then the whispers began and soon enough everyone was cheering for you "ayy Newt get in there!" "It's about time!" "You guys look good together" The commotion was endless, everyone began to gather around asking millions of questions about when your relationship began and how Alby came to know about it and if it had anything to do with Gally being put in the slammer. Newt looks over at you and sees you're becoming overwhelmed, so he thinks of a way to help you both escape the endless questioning "Okay everyone get to work! Me and Y/N have to set up our new room" He looks down at you and winks, causing everyone to start cheering all over again.
Newt takes your hands and pulls you through the crowd leading you back to your old room.
You begin packing up your small amount of clothes, which are the only items you have within the glade, along with the heart shaped rock Newt found and gave to you whilst he was working.
Newts room was slightly bigger than yours with a double bed- so there were perks to being second in command. You put your clothes away next to Newts and place the rock next to your side of the bed- which you claimed as soon as you walked in, causing Newt to laugh.
You look over at Newt across the room and then glance down at the bed and then back at him. He begins to edge towards you with a lustful glint in his eyes, but you have a different idea. You push him down onto the bed and then begin to jump on it, causing him to giggle. You bounce around him until he tackles you down, but you wriggle around on the bed trying to escape. He manages to get himself on top of you and pins down your arms keeping you still. He begins to shower soft kisses over your face and down your neck causing you to giggle "I love you Newt"
"I love you too love"
"Come on we better get to work before Alby changes his mind about our relationship"
Newt let's out an exasperated groan "you're right, but I wish I could stay in bed with you all day and make love to you"
You giggle and stroke your finger down his nose "well then you'll be excited for what I have planned for tonight" Newts eyes light up and a smile spreads across his face "aww baby I can't wait"
