I'm woken up the next day to a loud thud. Someone had tried walking into my room but as I'm leaning against it they're sent back. "Callie?" I hear, opening my eyes and rubbing them. My back aches from sleeping on the floor all night. Bags under my eyes from lack of said sleep. "What time is it.." I mumble, yawning as it's obviously early. "Its 7 AM Callie, Happy birthday." I frown and stand up. I had forgotten it was my birthday, today I turn 18. I open the door and look too find my dad. His smile fades when he sees my face. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" He asks, obviously worried by my appearance. "I.. just couldn't sleep that's all, what's up?" I ask, wrapping my arms round my self as it's quite chilly. "Thought I'd take you out for breakfast before we go shopping." I smile and nod "I'll be ready asap." I'm not really looking forward to today but at least I get too spend it with my dad like always. "Great! I'll meet you by the car in 10." I nod in agreement and watch him leave before getting ready.

10 minutes pass and I walk too the car, Dads leaning against the bonnet and swinging the keys on his finger. He notices and smiled "Well don't you look gorgeous." I laugh and shake my head "you say that no matter what I look like, dad." He winks and gets in the car, I take the passenger seat and buckle myself in. "Where we going?" I ask, watching him start up the car and drive out. "Wherever you want chick." I think for a moment and remember the place he used too take me as a child and smile. "Waffle house?" I ask. I watch him smile and nod. "Waffle house." He says in agreement.

We arrive at the waffle house and take a seat in an empty booth. "Have whatever you like." He says, handing me a menu. I scout it out and chew on my lip as a rather large lady comes over too take out order. "A black coffee for me and just a regular stack." Is all my dad orders, the lady nods and looks towards me. "What would you like darlin?" She asks, I look up at her and smile. "Pumpkin waffles with blueberry sauce please with a black forest hot chocolate please." That was my go too dish as a child and is still my favourite now. The lady writes it down and heads too the kitchen. I can hear my dad laughing. "What?" I ask, looking at him. "Don't ever grow up.. please.." I smile softly and take his hand. "I'll always be your little girl. " he lifts my hand and kisses my knuckles. "That you are Cal.. So I'm thinking we go shopping and get you a new dress. Get your hair done and go for dinner? I've made special arrangements for later on." I tilt my head but shrug and nod. "Sure! I'd love too." We sit there chatting until the lady returns with our order. I look at my stack and lick my lips before digging in. The first bite takes me back to when I was a little girl. Elijah was the one who introduced me to this. Everytime we came he would order the same dish and feed me half of his. There's quite a large age gap between me and Elijah. I was a surprise to my parents.

After finishing our food and my father paying quite a large tip too the lady that served us, we left too the Mall. "Where are we going tonight?" I ask, getting out the car with him and heading into the plaza. He shrugs and taps his nose. "You'll see soon enough. Let's concentrate in this dress. You're very picky." I gasp "picky?! I am not picky. " he laughs and looks at me "the only colour you wear is yellow. How many yellow clothing is there apart from your wardrobe. Some of which we've had to have custom made for you." I smirk, he's right. My favourite colour is yellow and yellow and black are all I wear. His Nickname for me is his little bumble bee. "I'm unique." He smiles and wraps his arm round me "That you are chick."

We search at least 15 shops inside out before I find the perfect dress. I could sense my dad growing tired and bored from the look on his face. But when I walk out the changing room wearing a strapless yellow dress with a black belt, his eyes light up. "Bingo. " He says, I grin and nod in agreement. "I thought that as soon as I saw it." After looking at the dress once over again my dad pays for it there and then so I wouldn't have to change, along with the heels I already had on, the dress was perfect. The next stop was hair, we went too our usual hair dressers. They were expensive but experienced. I sat in the chair and let the hair dresser take control. She always knew what's best for my hair. After she had played with it for a while her expression changed slightly as a small look of confusion crossed it. "Everything okay?" I ask. She nods and plays with my hair a few times "you just have a few strands of hair that are turning black." That's strange, I thought. Maybe it'll turn dark like my fathers. I'll have to dye it blonde soon if that's the case. The lady carried on with my hair and kept my natural curl but swept half of it into a side updo. It looked gorgeous.

Once the lady had finished my hair and my dad had paid, we head back. Time had flew by and the evening was catching up to us. I enjoy days like these with my father. It makes me feel young again. Though usually Jess or Elijah is with me on these outings. But today neither of them are here. I check my phone constantly, getting message after message of birthday wishes. I turn it on silent just to get some peace and quiet for a couple moments. "Everything Okay?" Dad asked, glancing at me from his drivers seat. "You're a little quiet." I sigh. "I just wish Elijah was here for my birthday." He frowns, turning into the drive way and stops to look at me. "You'll just have to spend this one without him darling. He's with you in your heart remember." I nod and look towards the mansion. "Come on." He says, tapping my arm and gets our from his side. I climb out the car and follow up the steps behind him to the mansion. He opens the door and I walk inside. It's awfully quiet in here but I assume everyone is out on mission. I could do with a quiet day. I watch my dad walk into the communal lounging area and follow up behind. Turning on the light I'm taken aback with a loud noise.

"SURPRISE!"
