"Damn, Maya. I should've walked with you. I would've run Jacob over with my car!" Kendall tells me furiously. She scoops up some more cereal from her bowl and shoves it into her mouth angrily. I've never seen someone eat cereal with such anger, and it was honestly hilarious. I giggle a bit as I watch milk drip down her chin. "That idiot better stay away from you. I love you too much to watch you get your heart broken by a loser like him," Kendall continues while wiping her face with a napkin.

I sigh. "Yeah, you're right. Luckily Jordan was there to protect me. I honestly didn't know what Jacob was thinking."

Kendall slept over last night and all we could talk about was Jacob. She was shocked when I told her what had happened to me the other day and the way Jordan somewhat helped me. I even told her that he hugged me. I know, a hug isn't exactly something to worry about, but if a tough and arrogant guy like Jordan ever hugged you, you'd be surprised too, wouldn't you? I mean, Jordan has been nothing but mean to me. I guess he's just never seen this side of me yet.

Gladly, Kendall was here to help me sort out my jumbled-up head. She even promised to make sure Jacob was at least ten feet away from me, which was sort of impossible to do, considering that I go to the same high school as him, but I'm sure Kendall would figure something out. Kendall also told me that maybe living with Jordan was a good thing for me. She said that Jordan is getting closer to me and could probably help me with my problem of having cheating men popping into my life. I thought it was odd of her to say something like that. I mean, how is another guy in my life going to solve my issues? I didn't understand Kendall sometimes.

"Jordan isn't bad after all," Kendall says. "Maybe he's those type of guys that don't like opening up right away. Didn't you tell me he got upset when you mentioned his mom before? He probably has trouble getting along with people. You should give him some time."

"Fine. Jordan might not be a jerk. Does that mean I have to treat him like my brother? I just-" I quickly stop talking when I hear foot steps coming closer and closer to us. Jordan quietly walks to the fridge without saying a word to me or Kendall. Kendall stares at me with wide eyes. She had her spoon in her mouth and she wasn't moving, as if she was frozen in place. I could tell she was freaking out and wondering the same thing as me: Did he hear our conversation?

I stare at Jordan with a curious look on my face as he takes out a cup of yogurt from one of the shelves in the refrigerator. He looks at me and Kendall and notices how awkward we were acting when he walked in. "What? Why are you two staring at me like that?" Kendall let out a sigh of relief. It was obvious that Jordan didn't overhear our conversation.

"Oh, sorry. We didn't know you were awake yet," Kendall manages to say with her spoon still in her mouth. Jordan gives her a weird look, then walks out of the kitchen with his cup of yogurt.

"I almost had a heart attack," I admitted to Kendall. She laughs and takes the spoon out of her mouth. We were just about to continue our conversation about Jacob and Jordan when the doorbell suddenly rings throughout the house. "Um, I wasn't expecting any guests today..." I say. Kendall and I stand up from the table and go up to the front door, which was already opened by Jordan, who still had his yogurt in his hand.

"Um, I'm sorry, but I don't know who you are," I hear Jordan say to whoever was at the door. I open the front door even more to see who it was and I heard Kendall gasping behind me.

I would be gasping too, but I was too surprised to even have a reaction. A guy with dirty blonde hair was staring me with his bright green eyes. His eyes were so green that he made emeralds look plain and ordinary. He smiles at me and his sharp jawline looked perfect. I knew who he was. He was my perfect best friend. It was Sean.
