Once I step out of Jordan's really fancy car, I felt the cold air hit me like a bullet. I shivered in my thick coat as I turned around to wave at Jordan before walking into school. In October, it gets cold in Northern Florida. I know, Florida is supposed to be the Sunshine State, but it can get a bit chilly here, trust me.

"It's colder in Germany," Sean says, noticing how cold I felt. He began walking beside me with a smile on his face. "There's snow there. It's much prettier." Sean was wearing a brown wool sweater, which made him look really cozy and ready for fall. Actually, he looked unbothered by the weather. That's probably because he loves spending his time outdoors and doesn't care if the weather is cold or not. He was also like this when we were younger, and I've always looked up to him because I thought he was strong.

"Okay, I get it, Sean. I'm an American girl who hasn't been outside the country. You don't need to rub it in my face," I tell him. I playfully hit his arm and he chuckles. "Hey, have you seen Kendall? Since, you know, you seem to know where she is all the time." I smirk at Sean, and his cheeks reddened a bit.

"I'm here!" Kendall exclaims. She pops up next to Sean, who still looked embarrassed from what I said. Kendall doesn't notice Sean's uneasiness and gladly walks beside him with her yellow boots. She looks dressed for fall weather and even had a yellow sweater to match her bright-colored boots. She looked adorable, and I bet Sean was thinking the same thing. "It's a bit cold today, isn't it?" She asks.

"It is," I say, agreeing with her, "but Sean over here acts like it isn't cold at all."

Sean laughs and shakes his head. "Well, the weather in Germany is worse than this. Also, you both know that cold weather doesn't affect me." Sean's accent made him sound truly European. He loves talking about Germany and all the things he sees and does there. Sometimes I wonder if he misses his friends in Germany more than his friends here in Florida.

"Ugh, I wish I was more like you. I'm Filipino, for God's sake. I love hot weather and sandy beaches, not a freezing temperature. Sorry, Sean, but I'm shivering like a chihuahua." Kendall pretends to shake like a chihuahua, which perfectly represented Kendall's weird personality. Sean and I laugh at Kendall's chihuahua impression.

While we were laughing and talking about how weird Kendall was, we walk into school and say goodbye to each other before going our separate ways to go to our first period classes. Sadly, mine is algebra.

I enter the door to my algebra class and I see Davian already seated at his desk right next to mine. I let out a breath before walking to my seat and sit down near him. I put my books down and look straight forward, hoping to ignore him like I've been doing for the past few weeks. Ever since that encounter with Sean, I've been ignoring him and his bitchy friends.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, and out of the corner of my eye, I recognized Davian's hand. I shrug his hand away from my shoulder and continued to ignore him, but it didn't work. He started to say my name, trying his best to get my attention and make me look at him.

"Maya," he says for the fifth time. I shift my chair more to the right, so he would get a hint that I didn't want to speak to him. Davian taps my shoulder again, and when I don't look at him, he lets out an exasperated sigh. "Look, I know you're pissed at me. I get it, I was a complete asshole for saying those things to you before, but it's been a long time ago. Can't you forgive and forget?"

I turn to look at him and I give him the deadliest glare I could possibly give someone. I was irritated by him and Jacob, and I wanted nothing to do with them. "I'm really not in the mood to forgive you."
