As the swirls faded, Kennilworthy appeared outside a small inn. It was completely quiet outside and around midnight.
Kennilworthy walked in and went to the desk.
"Just staying for the night mate." Kennilworthy said to the woman at the front desk.
"Alright, twenty galleons." The woman said handing him a key. "Room is second floor."
"Thank you." Kennilworthy said handing the woman the money.
Once Kennilworthy got to the room, he sat at the desk and took out his notebook.
He began to look over his notes and drawings from 1803, 1981, and 1998, including some already written down facts from 1947.
After some time, Kennilworthy closed his notebook and headed to the bed.
He fell asleep after a few minutes thinking where he should go to next.
As he was sleeping, an old owl flew into the room and landed on the chair to the desk.
There was a letter in the owl's mouth and dropped in on top of his notebook.
The owl flew out the window it opened in the direction of Hogwarts.
When Kennilworthy awoke in the morning, he walked over to the desk to collect his notebook and coat, to find the letter addressed on it, To Mr. Kennilworthy Whisp .
Kennilworthy looked at the letter confusingly and opened it.
Mr. Kennilworthy Whisp,
Please come to my office as soon as you see this letter, it is extremely important and urgent.
Professor Armando Dippet
Kennilworthy immediately put his coat on and put his notebook in his pocket and left the room.
He ran past the front desk throwing his key on the desk running out the door.
Once he made it to Hogwarts, he saw many students in the hallway.
He was quite confused but continued running to Dippet's office.
"Strawberry toads." Kennilworthy said urgently as the door began to move into the hallway to Dippet's office.
Kennilworthy ran through the hallway to find Dippet sitting at his desk making tea.
"Tea Mr. Whisp?" Dippet said pouring tea into a teacup.
"Why are there students in the hallways Professor?" Kennilworthy asked. "The semester just ended for the year."
"You've been gone for three months." Dippet said handing Kennilworthy the teacup. "That's why I called you over."
Kennilworthy sat down looking at Dippet confused.
"What happened?" Kennilworthy asked. "Did time change, did something bad occur?"
Dippet sipped his tea.
"Mr. Whisp, because of your three month absence, the Ministry became suspicious of your where-a-bouts and began questioning your family and friend, Orion." Dippet said.
"What do you mean where-a-bouts?" Kennilworthy asked sipping tea.
"The Ministry had no trace where you went, no quidditch teams have heard of you and not even your family knew where you were." Dippet said.
"What about Orion?" Kennilworthy asked. "Did he tell them what I was doing?"
"Not at all, he told the Ministry you were out traveling." Dippet said.
"They didn't believe it I suppose since I'm here." Kennilworthy said taking another sip of tea.
"Indeed." Dippet said putting biscuits on a plate. "Minister Moon wants a hearing tomorrow morning because of lying and unknown work to the Ministry."
"What, they think I'm trying to overthrow the Ministry?" Kennilworthy said taking a biscuit. "With a snitch and notebook from an eighteen year old Hogwarts graduate?"
"Indeed Mr. Whisp." Dippet said standing up. "I'll allow you to stay the night here, you can stay in the Ravenclaw common room."
Kennilworthy stood up walking away from Dippet's desk.
"Thank you Professor." Kennilworthy said leaving. "And how will we be transported to the Ministry?" Kennilworthy said turning around.
"The third years have their first Hogsmeade trip tomorrow morning." Dippet said cleaning up the tea. "We'll take the Hogwarts Express then use floo powder in a nearby shop."
Kennilworthy looked at Dippet then turned around and left his office.
Kennilworthy walked around the hallways eventually stopping outside by the lake.
"Whats gonna happen to me?" Kennilworthy asked himself.
Am I caught?
Is this the end?
Will I see Penny again?
Will mum find me as a disappointment?
Where will I go?
Kennilworthy thought to himself all the things that could go wrong, all the things that could end his time-travel career.
After sometime, the sun began to set and the students outside went inside for the night.
Kennilworthy walked back to the castle and up to Ravenclaw Tower.
He walked up to the door and the eagle door knocker asked the riddle to enter.
"You seem older than the rest of the students, you will receive a more advanced riddle." the door knocker said.
"Well I was put in Ravenclaw for a reason." Kennilworthy said up for the challenge, it was the least of his worries.
"Many have heard me, but no one has seen me, and I will not speak back until spoken to." the door knocker said.
Kennilworthy took a minute or two before figuring out the answer.
"An echo?" Kennilworthy guessed.
"Correct, you may enter." the door knocker said opening the door.
Kennilworthy walked into the common room where most students were packing up their books and heading to the dormitories.
Kennilworthy sat on the sofa by the fireplace.
He was worried about what will happen, if he'll ever be able to travel again, to meet new people and visit others.
He sat for a few hours worrying what will happen but eventually falling asleep only to wake up to the sound of the thirds years up and early packing for their Hogsmeade trip.
