Chapter 16: Two Witches and a German Auror

Penelope led Aurora and Finn into a vacant room and locked the door.

"Can't have anyone hearing." Penelope said turning to them. "This is Aurora." she added. She turned to Finn. "Don't overthink it when you realize her birth year."

Aurora held out her hand to Finn and smiled.

Finn shook her hand confused and looked back at Penelope.

"So what should I do?" he asked excitingly.

"Okay, our friend Ken, he got arrested for being British-"

"You brought a Brit into the country?" Finn said cutting Penelope off.

"No, neither did Aurora." Penelope said. "Don't cut me off."

"How did you get into Germany?" he asked Aurora.

"Um, I don't really know how to explain that." Aurora said nervously.

"She's not British, anyways, we need to get Ken out because he isn't supposed to be here or things will get worse than it is." Penelope explained. "Which ward would he be in? He didn't have any hearing."

Finn thought for a few moments.

"Um, I think Ward 13." Finn finally answered.

"Okay, lead the way." Penelope said.

"Really?" Finn asked happily. "Okay, this way."

Finn lead them out of the room and they followed him through the hallways down to a lift.

The three entered and Finn pressed a button with a thirteen on it.

Finn stood silently while Penelope tapped her foot impatiently and Aurora looked down at the ground.

Once they reached the thirteenth floor, Finn lead them out of the lift through a hallway.

They arrived at a closed door with the number thirteen in red on it.

"He's in there?" Aurora asked.

"Should be." Finn said taking out a key card.

He looked to see if anyone else was in the hallway and swiped it open once no one was in the hallway.

He opened the door and the three hurried in quietly.

The ward was a long dim hallway with cell doors every ten feet.

"Okay, let's look." Penelope said looking over at Aurora.

They both walked down the hallway, each looking through a window of the cell doors while Finn kept an eye for other aurors.

"Over here." Aurora called quietly while looking through the window of a cell.

She saw Kennilworthy in the corner facing the wall.

Penelope ran over to her examining the door.

"I know alohomora won't work." she said turning to Finn. "You got anything?"

Finn looked took one last look out of the main door and ran down to them.

He looked at the cell door and took out his wand.

"Alohomora." he said pointing his wand at the door.

The door opened and the three entered with shock.

"That was too easy." Kennilworthy said springing from the corner up to Aurora, Penelope, and Finn.

"Maybe we should leave the cell." Aurora said. "Just in case."

Penelope nodded in agreement and all four left the cell standing outside the cell door.

"It was easy because I weakened his cell lock." Hiver said entering the ward.

"Why exactly did you do that?" Kennilworthy said walking up to him.

"Your name, Whisp, it sounded to familiar, how could've I been so blind, especially after hearing everyone talking about the 1931 girl." Hiver said looking over at Aurora.

Finn's eyes widen looking at Aurora.

"Don't overthink it Finn." Penelope whispered to him.

"However, there are things you can't know just yet about the future." Hiver said. "But I know you aren't guilty, I took time to think when the hearing for Penelope and Miss. Nowak was in session."

Hiver leaned in closer to Kennilworthy.

"What do you know about Tom Riddle?" Hiver said quietly.

Kennilworthy looked at him.

"He was a third year when I was a first year when I attended Hogwarts." Kennilworthy answered.

"You were there when the Chamber of Secrets was opened in 1942?" Hiver asked.

"Yes, but we were told it was Rubeus Hagrid who opened the chamber, it caused the death of a student." Kennilworthy said. "What does it have to do with Tom Riddle?"

Hiver stepped back and looked at Penelope.

Penelope looked at Kennilworthy then to Hiver and nodded.

Hiver leaned back closer to Kennilworthy.

"Tom Riddle framed Rubeus Hagrid, it was Tom who opened the Chamber of Secrets in 1942." Hiver said quietly.

Kennilworthy's eyes widen looking at Hiver.

"He's the threat to the wizarding world, he caused the wizarding wars." Kennilworthy said realizing walking around the hall holding his head. "He goes by a different name, one no one must say."

Kennilworthy quickly grabbed out his snitch.

"You three, lock hands." he said pointing to Aurora, Penelope, and Finn.

They took each other's hands and Kennilworthy walked up and took Aurora's free hand.

"Meet us in your office in France Minister, we'll be right back." Kennilworthy said holding out his snitch. "Massachusetts 1943." he said as they disappeared.

Hiver stood for a few moments in shock than ran out of the corridor.

"Need to get back to France." he said to himself hurrying.

The three appeared in what looked like a quidditch field with a man standing in front of them.

Kennilworthy walked up to the man smiling.

"Derek Notts, good to see you." he said shaking his hand. "Thank you so much for helping."

"No problem, it's good to see you too Whisp." Derek smiled.

Finn looked around in shock.

"We were just in 1995, now 1943." Finn said to himself confused.

"Who are you?" Penelope asked.

"More importantly, how did you know we were coming?" Aurora asked.

"Um, well, it's wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff." Kennilworthy said gesturing everyone to take hands again.

"What?" Penelope asked confused looking at him.

"Never mind that, we got a dark lord to catch." Kennilworthy smiled. "Hogwarts 1943."

Author's note: Sorry for late updates, I'm focusing a lot in school and writing chapters in my free time when I'm not wasting my life watching Doctor Who or Stranger Things, I'm pretty you understand but I'm not going to quit this story because I'm actually really proud of this work and yea I'm still planning my horror book for later on in the year :)
