Colby, Brennen and I were sitting on the couch talking about what we should do when all the sudden Colby blurted out "Ouija board." "What?" I asked not knowing what it was. "Ouija board is a board that can contact spirits" Brennen explained to me. I made my mouth an o shape and said "okay I'll do it."
"You up for it Brennen?" Colby said "I don't know man" Brennen replied. Colby did a sad look and Brennen gave in "okay fine." "Yay!" Colby cheered raising his arms in the air. I giggled as Colby said "let's go."
Why was Colby so excited to talk to spirits? I have no idea. We walked out to Colby's car and I got in the backseat while Brennen and Colby got in the front. "We are going to a cemetery 2 hours away" Colby said. I groaned and he started the car and pulled out of brennen's driveway.
2 hours later
I woke up to Colby yelling at me "get up!" I shot up and yelled "what, when, who, where, what!" Brennen and Colby laughed and I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car. We started to walk and Brennen walked over to me "you ready to play this thing" he said. "I guess" I replied shrugging my shoulders. I lied I was pretty scared to do this.
Colby ran up to Brennen and i and he said "we have to climb a fence to get in." We stopped walking and stared up at entrance of cemetery. "Who's going first" Brennen said and I raised my hand. "Okay go ahead" Colby said as I walked up to the fence and started to climb it.
Once I got over the fence and on to the ground Brennen went over the fence and then Colby said loudly "watch out." I looked up and the ouija board hit me and I laughed. Colby climbed over the fence and asked me laughing "are you okay?" I nodded my head while laughing.
We walked up to a random grave and Colby sat up the camera and sat down between Brennen and i. "Could you hit the record button?" Colby asked me and I pressed the button. "Hey guys it's Colby Brock and I'm here with Brennen taylor" Colby took a breath and Brennen said "hey everyone."
"I'm also here with Sam's other sister Ashton" Colby said pointing at me and I waved. "So let's get this started" Colby said and took out the board and planchette. "So Ashton has never played an ouija board so this is totally new to her" Brennen explained to the audience.
"So put two fingers on the piece" Colby said and I did as I was told. They started to make the piece go in circles around the board and then stopped. "Are there any spirits here wanting to talk to us" Brennen asked. We waited a few minutes and the piece slowly went to yes.
"You want to ask it something ash?" Colby asked me "sure" I replied. "What's your name" I asked the board and it started to spell out 'S K Y L E R.' "Skyler" I mumbled under my breath. I had heard that name somewhere but I didn't know where.
"How old are you" Brennen asked it and it moved to a 1 and then a 6. "They were 16" Colby whispered. "My age" I said looking over at Brennen and Colby. "How did you die if you don't mind me asking" I said. It started to spell out 'S U I C I D E.'
I felt my eyes tear up and my breath quicken. "Are you a boy or girl" Colby asked it and spelled out 'B O Y.' I felt tears roll down my face. "Is your last name mattheny?" I asked and went to yes.
Colby and Brennen looked at me with a confused and pitiful look.
"I miss you Skyler" I said and it spelled out 'I M I S S Y O U T O O.' "Why'd you do it" I asked the board. it started to spell 'I W A S T O D E P R E S S E D I M S O R R Y.' "Do you want to say goodbye" Colby asked me putting his free hand on my shoulder. "I love you skyler but goodbye" I said and we all moved it to goodbye. I took my fingers off the planchette and Colby wrapped his arms around me and I sobbed into his shirt. Brennen turned off the camera and put the board away.
I pulled away from Colby and said "sorry about your shirt." I wiped my eyes and Colby replied "it's okay." We all got up and walked over to the gate and climbed over it. "HEY YOU THREE" we heard a man yell. "RUN" Brennen yelled and we sprinted towards Colby's car and quickly got in and drove away.
Back at the house
Colby pulled into the driveway and parked his car. We had dropped Brennen off at his house earlier. We got out of his car and walked into the house. "WE'RE HOME" Colby yelled. "Finally" sam said walking up to us and noticed that I had been crying.
"What's wrong" Sam asked me "Skyler, ouija board" was all I said. Sam's eyes widened he knew who Skyler was. I walked upstairs and went into my room and flopped down on my bed. I fell into a deep sleep soon after
Colby's POV
I was confused about who was Skyler was but he seemed to be pretty important to Ashton. "Hey Sam who's Skyler" I asked sam. Sam breathed out "Skyler was Ashton's best friend he was older then her by three years. He got so depressed that he couldn't live anymore and he killed himself and we buried him where you had played ouija board at" Sam explained to me.
"Oh" I said walking up the stairs and into my room. Ashton will most likely be affected by that tremendously and it's all my fault.
