After that night Colby and I decided to try and find a flight to go back to California. When we asked Sam he said he was gonna stay another week. So we ended up saving a lot of money.
We didn't plan to pack up and leave right after Christmas. We actually planned to stay another week like Sam was. It's just neither one of us feel like we're welcome here.
"Do you have to leave?" Gage asked walking into Colby's room.
"Sadly yes" I sighed.
"Goodbye I guess. It was nice seeing you again" Gage said hugging me.
Colby and I carried our suitcases downstairs and sat them by the door. Colby's mom was laying on the couch watching tv.
"Bye mom" Colby said waving goodbye. His mom glared at us and then went back to watching tv.
"Bye Colby, Bye Ashton" his dad waved at us smiling. I looked out the window and saw sam in the driveway.
"Sams here" I said tugging on Colby's shirt sleeve. We waved one last goodbye and then went outside.
"Hey Sam" I smiled waving at him.
"Hi Ashton is your eye okay?" He asked me throwing our suitcases in the trunk. I had a black eye from where my mom punched me.
"Yea it's fine" I said climbing into the backseat while Colby got into the front seat.
"Are you ready?" Sam said starting the car.
"Yea!" I said buckling my seat belt in. Sam pulled out of the driveway and started to drive towards the airport.
I didn't talk much during the ride. I decided I better let Colby and Sam talk to each other. I just sat in the backseat listening to the music that was playing over the radio.
"We're here!" Sam exclaimed stopping the car.
"I can see that" I laughed unbuckling my seat belt and getting out of the car.
Sam took out the suitcases and gave them to us.
"Thanks Sam I'll see you in a week" I said to Sam hugging him. I let go allowing Colby and Sam to say their goodbyes and hug.
"You ready?" Colby asked me walking up beside me.
"As ready as I'll ever be"
