It's painful, that you think I'm one thing when I can't tell you what I truly am, and so all I can do is smile. What hurts even more is that you fell for it. You fell for all of it. You couldn't see past my lies because I was too good at saying they were others. And you trusted me. I had you in the palm of my hand. And I never, ever wanted to drop you. It hurt to watch you fall so damn hard.
And it hurt, knowing I couldn't catch you.
And that will forever leave a scar.
