Maddison
Mr T throws the first punch. His fist narrowly missing Ryan's jaw as he ducks and tries to strike Mr T's midsection. Mr T blocks Ryan's attack with ease and brings his own knee into Ryan's thigh. Ryan bends and tries to kick Mr T in the process, but once again he's blocked. I study Mr T's form so that I'm prepared for my fight.
He blocks first, before even considering an attack. If I can force one attack and then another fast enough afterwards, he might get caught off guard. Either that or let him strike first, block, then attack.
Nearly the whole class is gathered around the mats now, everyone watching to see Mr T deliver a clean blow to Ryan's shoulder.
"Oof," he grunts, before dodging a kick. I laugh. A few other kids chuckle. Mr T feints one way before digging his thumb into Ryan's chest. It goes on like this for a minute or so, Mr T easily defending himself and giving Ryan little knocks. It's painfully obvious that Mr T is going easy on Ryan. Finally, he catches Ryan's fist and brings it down.
"That's enough," he says with a smile. Ryan stumbles off the mat blushing. I guess he's embarrassed that he lost. But like Aiden told me, not even him, the supposedly-oh-so-great-and-wonderful-Aiden-Redmond could beat Mr T. So I don't think much of the class cares.
Aiden gives my shoulder a little nudge.
"Ready?" He asks me.
"You're the one who's about to get whooped," I smirk. Aiden only gives me a wink before he steps onto the mat.
"Mr T," he nods.
"Mr Redmond," Mr T smiles. "Are you ready?"
"Always," Aiden says, just like he'd told me minutes before.
It's Mr T who acts first, but it's not his fist, it's his foot flying upwards. Aiden doesn't hesitate to knock Mr T's foot out of the way with his own and attempt a blow to his chest. It goes on like this for a minute or so, both of them fighting hard, but neither of them actually making contact with the other.
"I told you Aiden was the best, didn't I?" I hear Alexa come up behind me to watch the combat round.
"I think you might have mentioned it," I giggle. Aiden gets a thumb to Mr T's neck, but it leaves his jaw exposed and Mr T knocks Aiden there.
"He's really amazing. He's one of the smarted kids in the classes. He's the best tail, and best at losing one, or spotting one, and he's the best at every weapon in here. And he's the champion on the Shifter..." Alexa goes on to list everything Aiden is the greatest at. I only laugh, never taking my eyes off of the pair on the mats. Most of the class is watching intently as I am.
"Has anyone ever beat Mr T?" I inquire.
"Nope. Aiden stands a chance, but I don't think it's ever happened," she tells me.
"And no ones ever beat Aiden?" I ask.
"Not even close," Alexa sighs. "He's like the lone wolf of the class. Always does better than everyone and never really opens up. He doesn't get involved in other people's business and he likes to hold up his cocky, arrogant, I'm-better-than-you, superior, facade."
"Thanks, Alexa," Aiden grunts from the mats in front of us as he ducks under one of Mr T's swings, somehow managing to hear us despite his focus on Mr T.
"Anytime!" She giggles.
After multiple minutes of hardcore combat, but no serious injuries to either of the fighters, Mr T calls it off. Aiden nods respectfully to Mr T.
