Chappie 36

HYUNRA POV

I've been feeling over the moon these few days, mainly because I'm finally back together with Jeonghan and also partly because I was accepted by Pledis.

I'd never expect myself to be this happy to get accepted into a music company. I guess it's the sense of achievement and truthfully, even though I initially was reluctant about this whole interview thing, I'm kind of excited and thrilled about the things I'm gonna experience soon.

I know all the fame takes a lot of hardwork and training but I'm willing to do it, I hope my perseverance will pay off in the end. I wanna be like Jeonghan, his group seems to have many fans and they do really well in their performances and albums, I hope I'll be like him. He's kind of my inspiration.

Although it's hard starting with no fame what so ever, I'll try my best nonetheless.

And I'm glad that Jeonghan's group is finally ending their hiatus and their having a comeback in a week time. I'm excited to see what kind of songs they will produce, I've listened to their songs and they are great. You could say I'm starting to become a fan too.

Currently, I'm not doing much since I've stopped working at the bakery but for today, I'm going to meet Raehwa. We agreed to meet and have lunch together.

It's going to be a great opportunity to get closer to her.

We planned to meet at the bakery at noon. It was almost noon and I was on my way to the bakery.

After walking a little more, the bakery was in my sight. Just then, I saw Raehwa come out of the bakery with her apron still on as she looked to her left then her right.

She saw me and her face lit up, she waved her hands enthusiastically and I waved back with a big smile.

"You're here! Let's go for lunch, but let me change first." She laughed as she looked down at her uniform and apron.

I nodded and waited outside as she went back in. She came out again soon but without her uniform or apron.

"I'm ready! Let's go." She said as she linked arms with me like how a clingy sibling would. But I didn't mind it, it felt nice to have family around me.

"I found a BBQ restaurant nearby, let's go and have our lunch." She beamed at me and I nodded in return.

"It's good right?" Raehwa asked me while her mouth was full of food. She acted like she's been with me forever and like she's super close to me.

I mean, I didn't mind that but I was still a little shy and I only nodded, maybe an occasional 'yes' or 'no'.

"Come on, don't be so shy." She sighed.

"I know, it's kinda my fault though. But, I promise I'll treat you better. Please don't be scared." She continued.

She's right, things have changed. I should be more open.

"Alright." I said and unintentionally went quiet again. "I mean, yeah. I'll try. It's alright, I've forgiven you, I'll not recall the sad times and look forward instead." I smiled and reassured her.

"There's one thing I've been wondering recently." I asked shyly,  debating if I should ask it or not.

"What is it?" She looked up from her plate.

"Who are you living with? If, you don't want to talk about it, it's fine. " I was worried that I was being too direct, but I couldn't take back the words I've said.

"No, it's alright." She paused.

"I'm living with my dad and my step-mom. I found my dad a few years after I ran away immaturely. Then I found out that he re-married another woman and he persuaded me to live with them. I agreed since I didn't have anywhere else to go to." She explained.

I understood and nodded my head.

"I miss Mom." I said ever so softly, it was almost inaudible.

"Me too, I didn't even have the chance to apologise to her." Raehwa said with remorseful in her tone.

I kept quiet, letting her take a deep breath and a huge sigh.

"But now, let me be your family." The corner of her lips tugged upwards and she gave me a gentle and comforting smile.

I nodded and muttered a almost inaudible 'yes'. I was grinning widely, I was grateful and glad that I have someone who wasn't a guy and someone that I can say anything to.

"So... the serious stuff aside, how's things going between you and Jeonghan? I noticed you two still have something going on with each other even after all these years." She smirked and gave me a mischievous look.

I felt my face go warm, it must be a little red now. "I-ah. Um. It's...good" I stuttered and paused in my sentence.

"Are you going out?"

"Yeah, only recently though."

"What? I thought you two would be together for very long already and was just too embarrassed to admit it. It's time you got together." She looks a little shock but she sounds happy for me.

"Does he treat you well?" She asked curiously as she leaned forward a little.

I tried to stopped myself from smiling but I couldn't help but let out a small giggle.

"Yeah, he's really nice, he treats me really well, he's kind, he's caring and I'm really in love with him." I gushed without stopping dreamily.

I then realised I was blabbering and I immediately stopped, looking down at my lap, embarrassed.

"I'm sorry." I said sheepishly.

"No, it's fine. It's nice to see you loving someone. You looked so cute and so in love while talking about him. I hope he will be your happily ever after." She chuckled and put her hands on mine.

We spent the rest of our afternoon like that,talking and getting to each other more. We laughed and talked our afternoon away, I finally felt comfortable around her, no more awkwardness and cold feelings.

I finally appreciated the family I have.

Heyy, so I have somethings to explain..

Firstly, if you remember, there was a yellow heart emoji beside his contact name. If you guys don't know, a yellow heart represents close friendship, so there actually no romantic relationship between them in the past.

Secondly, you've also probably noticed that my updates are just a tiny bit slower now and I apologize for that. But my exams are coming up and I've got more homework to complete. So pls understand 😓😓
