Chapter 50

To be honest it's heartbreaking to watch the person you love crumble to the ground. Watching him for weeks stay locked up in the room. Just staring aimlessly at the wall. At least now I know what Dan and Phil must have felt years ago. 

Phoebe walked in from school dropping her bag on the floor. She sat down on the chair next to me slamming her head against the counter. Felix and Lucius were her best friends, it hurts to see her like this. 

"Hey baby," I whispered. 

"Hi Daddy," She whispered back. 

"Another rough day at school?" 

She nodded, "Yeah, the kids want to know whats going on. It hurts too much to explain it.: 

I patted her back, "I know sweetheart, I know." 

A knock came from the front door. I left Phoebe in the kitchen to go answer the door. 

Light stood in front of me with a small smile on his face. 

"I want to apologize," He blurted before I could speak. 

"Why?" 

Light sighed, "Because I wasn't there for you two when Felix and Lucius died." 

The memories hit me like a brick, "Can't you-" 

"Yeah, it breaks me to know that I didn't help," Light murmured. 

"What were you doing that day?" 

Light looked down ashamed, "I was at home. The night before I went out drinking." 

My breath turned sharp, "Instead of saving your brothers best friends you decided to stay home because you had a hangover." 

"Anti-" 

I put a hand up silencing him, "I'm not in the mood for your sympathy." 

"At least let me explain why I didn't come!" 

"Fine," I growled. 

"As you know Felix and Lucius were drunk. They went to a bar together the night before, it just so happens to be the same bar I was at. We had our fun drinking shots and all. I left to go to the bathroom. Lucius followed me and pulled me aside. Since I'm an angel it takes awhile to get drunk. I was tipsy but still sober enough to understand him. Lucius wasn't drunk either, he was sober and was fake drinking at first. He wanted to talk to me about something. 

"Light something is going to happen tomorrow morning," Lucius whispered while pulling Light aside. 

Light looked at him confused, "What do you mean?" 

"Felix is going to drive home drunk. There's going to be a crash. We are going to die. Please don't save us. I know it's going to hurt a lot of people. But please. Don't. Save. Us." 

"Why?" 

 Lucius sighed, "Felix and I made a deal with the Devil. Marzia and Darzia were supposed to have cancer, we didn't want them to go through that. The deal was that if Felix and I died, Marzia and Darzia would be okay. Nothing would happen to them. The crash is part of the deal. If you save us then the girls will have to suffer. Promise me Light that you won't do that to me. You would make the girls suffer from that," He pleaded. 

Light looked at Lucius with sadness gleaming in his eyes, "I promise. You do know that this is going to hurt a lot of people. Felix is a YouTube sensation, well over 50 million people are going to be hurting from his death. Along with his family. We also have you. You have a family and friends. We're not going to take this lightly."

"I know, it's just Darzia and Mariza means too much to both of us. We would rather risk our lives than theirs." 

"I didn't want that to happen, but he asked me Anti! I promise him that I wouldn't save him. I don't break my promises like that." 

Tears welled up in my eyes as I stared at Light, "I get it. Now go explain that to Dark. He's taking this ten times harder than I am." 

Light nodded, moving past me so he could go upstairs. I turned around to see Phoebe staring at me with hurt in her eyes. 

"Uncle Light killed them?" 

I shook my head, "No sweetheart, they exchanged their lives for their wives." 

"But why?" 

"Love honey, love." 

Hello! 

It's currently 6 A.M here. 

I'm tired but I can't sleep. So have a chapter. 

I'm sitting in my dark room patiently waiting for my parents to go to work so I can go get coffee. Coffee! Yay! I also have to be quiet because I don't feel like getting yelled at by my parents for being up. 

In my defense I did sleep. Like 3 hours, but at least I slept somewhat.

Btw, go listen to Pink's What About Us. The song is amazing! I've been listening to it for the past 3 hours, well worth it.
