(4 years later)
It was well past midnight. The house was silent, the only sound was the soft snores of Dark who laid upstairs sleeping. Phoebes room was quiet, she was probably texting or sleeping. I stared at the kitchen counter looking through the town's newspaper. It was another night where I couldn't get much sleep. I was starting to drift off with my face pressed against the counter.
That's when I heard the front door creak. I shot up staring in the direction of the front door. Quiet footsteps bounded down the hallway. Phoebe, all dressed up started to walk towards her bedroom. Her outfit obviously something Dark and I decided against. I cleared my throat getting her attention. She froze for a moment before spinning around on her heel.
"Oh, hey Daddy," Phoebe nervously said, trying to act all innocent and such.
"Hello darling," I smiled.
Phoebe sighed, "Look I can explain!"
"You better get to explaining, better do it now before I wake up your father."
"Jace was throwing this massive party. I asked you guys but you said no because it's a school night. But if I didn't go to this party my social life would be ruined! It's the biggest party of this year, everyone was going to it. Even the nerds were there. If I didn't go there I would be the laughing stock of the school," Phoebe blurted.
"Well, that's a better excuse than when I went insane. You are grounded for 2 weeks. No electronics and your house ridden. If I catch you sneaking out again I will have Light monitor this house full time. Do you understand?"
Phoebe groaned, "Come on Daddy! I had plans for the weekend!"
"I guess your gonna have to cancel them," I smirked.
"Ugh, I hate you," She mumbled.
"No, you don't. That's just you trying to get out of a situation. That may work on your father but that won't work on me."
Phoebe stomped off to her room upset.
I grinned to myself. A successful parent moment.
I started to drift asleep again so I walked upstairs to go to bed. Dark was passed out on the bed hugging a pillow close to him. Of course, it was my pillow. Gently I took the pillow from him then wiggled myself into his arms.
"Goodnight baby," Dark murmured.
"Night Darkimoo."
