IS THAT THE SLENDER MAN?

'I'm sure you just saw some lanky guy, that's all' I say to Clara, my best friend.

'No. I swear it was the slender man!!' she insisted when I protested her claims.

I rolled my eyes and just continued to walk down the hill. I could already hear the loud chatter from a particular house at the very end. The house belonged to the greatest Cheerleader of all time Hannah. It was her birthday and we were surprised to get invited like this. And by her that is. She never talked to us or even tried to. A smile as a greeting and that's that. Actually most of the students from the grade were invited.

'Look, I know it is just some urban legend and people just made that up maybe. But I saw him. He was tall and I couldn't clearly see his face' she went on.

'It's not that I don't believe in slender man. Why would people even make something up like that? To scare people? Yeah true. But it ought to be true' I agreed.

'So? Why don't you believe me?' she asked.

'I believe you Clara' I stated coming to a hilt. 'But I need to see it first to truly believe' I added.

'Do you think he will show up again tonight?' she asked.

'Not really. Not unless he is interested in you' I smirked.

'Don't say that! It gives me chills' she pretended to shiver.

'Alright let's enjoy this party for now. We will discuss this later' I patted on her back and we both started walking.

Hannah had something for everyone. A story. And most surprisingly it was about the slender man. Clara and I exchanged glances when she said that she saw him at night. An hour after Clara had seen him. Which was rather suspicious.

We both went to my house. Our parents hadn't come back from their trip yet and it was alright to have fun. Aron stood by the patio staring ahead as we came in through the gate. He still hadn't forgotten the night in the asylum. We talk about it a lot. And somehow, it gets creepier than ever.

'Hey, why are you staring like that? Something the matter?' I asked.

Aron looked at Clara first and then at me 'yeah sort of' he got back inside.

I saw that Clara was blushing. It was obvious that he had a crush on her. Not to mention she already told him so. I don't know what their conversation went like. But they seem to hide it all pretty well.

While Clara and I were near the counter drinking lemonade, Kevin came to the house.

'Guess what?' he took a seat beside me.

'What?' I glanced at him.

'We have a mystery in our hands' he announced. Which got Aron's attention and he called the twins who were playing video games.

They all crowded near us. Aron taking a seat beside Clara. She sat there frozen like. Almost stopping herself from screaming out loud in happiness. And I guess my sadistic brother seemed to like her innocent reaction.

'Some girls are saying they seen the slender man' Kevin began.

'What?' Clara and I chorused together. We all glanced at everyone before I said 'actually Clara saw him too. Even Hannah'

'The cheerleader?' Travis asked.

'Yeah'

'Well, 4 girls from my class said that they saw him. A tall fellow, it was hard to tell at night. My question is why the girls? Clearly whoever this is planning to scare girls' Kevin said. He shrugged 'in worst case, take girls away'
