I was lying down on the sofa when I saw a shadow near the bedroom door. I decided not to take notice of it standing there on the first floor watching me. I knew he was watching me. I frowned, still not thinking of going to my room. It was obvious that he wanted me to come. I had no idea what he wanted tonight. Maybe he wants to tell me a secret to unveiling his life? Nah...he is too tricky.
I looked at my brothers who were playing games. They hadn't noticed me here. It was annoying that they sometimes are so overprotective and when it comes to games, I'm invisible. Aron wasn't at home. He had night shifts these days.
Suddenly, the whole house became dark. I heard both of my brothers annoyingly shouting out. 'What the hell!! Seriously? We were winning the fight!!'
I smiled, but it faded as I felt strong hands carried me up. He brought me to my room and threw me on to the bed. The room was also dark. It's so weird that even if there is the moon giving light, they never enter my room. I guess he was playing tricks on me. I stayed quietly but he didn't do anything. So I sighed and stood up. Only to be kissed by soft demanding lips. It shocks me every damn time he does this. Feels like he was really a human. I tiptoed to get to him more. He held me up lightly. With this sign, I know I should be careful not to be loud. I hate that I was weak when I was with him. Literally just can't run away even if I wanted to. He had such power over me.
At around 12:45, I woke up to hear the doorbell ring. I got up and dressed up before going downstairs. I saw Terence and the others with terrifying faces giving signals to each other. Travis saw me and came up to me. He whispered 'Shh. There is someone here'
Aron and Terence came up to me too. They looked pale and sweaty even with the light coming from the kitchen. The TV was also paused. So they had been playing games this late.
'Mom? They said they would be back tomorrow?' I asked barely above a whisper.
We all turned around to hear a knock. We all tiptoed towards the door and one by one looked outside through the peephole.
We could only wish we hadn't. Because right on our porch stood someone. A little person. We knew that there was no such person in this town. And definitely not her, who had curly wire hair and with a big grin. A toothy grin. The horror...the horror...
I got away from the door.
I stopped myself from screaming when we all heard a series of pounding on the door. We all fell back in to the living room. Quickly Aron called our parents. They didn't pick up at first but then after the third try dad picked up. Aron talked to him. But I guess he asked why we were all up this late. He stopped himself from throwing the phone away. Terence took over the phone and whispered 'dad seriously. There is this small person right on the other side of the door' he whispered.
'Don't open the door. Anyways. Are you sure it isn't some kid pranking? There is no little person in this town' we all crept near the phone to hear him say.
'Do you really think there will be kids at this hour playing pranks?' Travis asked to the receiver.
'Okay okay. Just ignore and go to sleep' he seemed like he was falling asleep again.
Aron almost threw the phone away. But we all stopped him. He wasn't particularly angry but he was annoyed for sure. Since we hadn't heard more of the knocking we all went up to the door once more.
She wasn't there anymore.
It scared the hell out of us. We stayed up for some time before I went to sleep before everyone else.
And my bed was empty.
