I laid down on my bed. I couldn't piece out the mystery. The lady from that shop was old and sad. That one rose she had. It was wilted and dried up. But it had been beautiful when I saw it first. Or was it the same one?
A beautiful nightmare.
I closed my eyes and sincerely thought of the man who haunted my mind.
'Please please please' I kept on chanting. I was wishing he would come and tell me something.
Tell me about the roses. What's the mystery behind them? Why me? When did this all began? Of all the people why was it me that he chose?
Suddenly, I felt a chill go down my spine. The same I get whenever I touch the roses. I opened my eyes and sat up ever so suddenly. I gasped. Near my wardrobe stood a shadow. Out of the blue, the electricity went out. I gasped again and stayed still. My heart thundering on my chest. Darkness enveloping me.
Slowly I felt the bed sink from the edge. I held my breath in fear. I just thought of him and he was here!! Shit! Calling for him was one thing. But facing him was just terrifying. The place near my hand sank. I just fell back frozen like when I knew he was right on top of me. I didn't see him, yet I felt his weight and the fact that it wasn't some unknown force that touched me. It was his hands that held mine.
'Sarah' his deep voice said my name near my ear. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up alert.
And that's that. I didn't remember anything that happened after that. I woke up to the next morning, trying to figure out what happened to me. Feeling new but so tired.
At breakfast Aron told us we would be going to a fishing trip. I was still in a trance like but the talk of the trip got my head clear. There was a small island nearby so we decided to go there. Mom and I made food for us to bring. While the others got ready with their gears.
Even Kevin joined us. We told him about the trip. He said the only thing he did was learn how to swim. Which ended productive too.
While we were out in the sea on a small boat with a friend of our father's, we saw dolphins. It was exciting.
Our father's friend, Mr. Grayson told us about his journeys and fishing trips. It was informative. A very different topic for us. We were always into investigating and thirsty for horror. However, talking about fishing and the sea was nice. It was like a new meaning to life.
We all were on the island. I was making sandcastles while the others were netting the lagoon area. For once in our life, we were doing something so far away from paranormal. And the fact that we enjoyed every bit of our trip.
After catching one batch of reef fishes they again spread the net in another area. This time, I had gone to see what they were up to. Kevin sort of taught me how to swim even though I didn't succeed in producing good results.
The day went by with us enjoying every moment of it. And when it was 7 at night, Mr. Grayson taught us to make a fire. He talked about many things. It was interesting.
Suddenly, we all heard weird noises from nearby.
'Well, the ghosts here are jealous. So let's go' Mr. Grayson laughed and stood up.
'Ah! We still haven't taken out the net' Travis said.
We all packed up. I was on the boat helping.
'Alright then, Travis and Aron, you both can come with me' Mr. Grayson turned around. But he took a few steps to go to the shore, and turned ever so suddenly.
'Nope. Well let's just go' he hurried towards the boat, pushing it away from the shallow waters fast 'fast!'
The sudden urgency in his tone led us to get worried.
'What happened? What about the net' we all were concerned.
'No time to loose. Let's go go' he and the three boys pushed the boat further away until it was deep enough to start the engine.
They all got on the boat and Mr. Grayson started the boat and without further talking. Once we were far away enough I asked 'what happened? Is it okay to leave the net?'
He didn't say anything and just stayed still for a moment. He sighed 'what I saw was a giant black thing coming towards us'
We all gasped 'what? Really?'
'True. That's why. Let's wait for a bit before we go back to take the net'
After waiting for an hour we went back to get the net. To our horror. The water was muddy and red where the net was.
'What the hell?' Aron and the others took it up and saw that all the fishes were mutilated. And the strange part...there was no sign of any head of the fishes. Not even one inside or outside the net. Even the net was damaged.
'Ah that bastard' Mr. Grayson wasn't happy to see his net all ruined.
Out of the blue we all saw a fire erupt from the shore. It stood 8 feet tall.
'Shit! What the hell is that?!!!' Kevin cried out.
Mr. Grayson cursed out loud and just started the engine. There was no source of the fire and yet it stayed there. We all sailed away in fear.
'You saw that?!' Mr. Grayson asked aloud 'that was Ifrit'
