DOLLS

I particularly didn't like children. They were hyped up each and every damn time. And demands to play with them more. I mean, I don't think as a kid I had demanded for such company. Neither have I been so hyped up and always into playing games. But kids these days...some times are like never getting destroyed machines.

On a very beautiful day, I was put to babysitting job forcefully...forcefully by my mother so that she and her group can go out. And my brothers just didn't come for my rescue.

'You are on your own sis' and they gave me a sympathetic nod.

I will definitely get them for this. I never tried to even spend minutes with a kid before. I was expecting so many things from this little girl but she was as calm as a cucumber. Which I didn't like. I have to be honest. She freaks me out. The way she just sat there playing with her dolls. Damn those dolls. Why the doll?!! Urgh.

I partly blamed and cursed everything was because I was on my period. The hormones were getting high these days. I thought to myself and just watched her play. I could have turned on the TV and started to watch something. However, I didn't want to get my eyes off this little snowflake. Little snowflake was too cute and creepy trying to make a doll tea party.

She turned a little to look at me.

I smiled automatically. Alas, she just glared at me.

This is my life now... yup. Totally my life now. Being glared by a kid whom I never even tried to talk.

She kept glancing at me secretly. And then finally I sighed.

'Little snowflake' I called her that since she was very pale, having pink little lips. 'Your tea set is about to fall off the table' I pointed at the backup tea set she had.

She looked alarmed and then immediately kept them away. She then said something to the dolls. Like assuring them everything was fine. She again glanced at me. This time though, she refused to look anywhere else.

I gave her a smile 'what is it? Is the tea okay?'

She nodded and came towards me. She came near enough to say 'they don't like you, they said if you don't leave. They will kill you'

Being the drama queen, I made a funny expression before asking 'right? And who said that?'

'Miss Helena and Miss Pie' she motioned towards the dolls.

Oh sheesh...I knew it! Where there are dolls, and a socially awkward girl who completely relies on dolls. There are meant to be some bad stuff. I wasn't horrified or anything. I just felt cringy and gooey and all bad vibes coming from the dolls.

'What about the others?' there were four damn dolls. Perfect pairs of dolls. Boys and girls.

'Ben doesn't say anything. Neither does...' she paused. As if she heard an unknown say something to her. I watched her face flush red.

Woah she looked so cute. But she was afraid too. Whatever she heard, I didn't like that look she gave. I eyed those dolls. They were looking right at us. I didn't feel it before but the air was giving a negative energy. As if life was slowly draining out of me. A heavy burden on my chest.

'You know what? Never mind them. I will leave. But I have to take something important with me when I leave. Is that okay?' I asked grinning.

She just stayed quiet.

I stood up and took her up and left the house immediately. I took her out to the mall where she ate and talked to me just a little. She was nervous. Saying things like Miss Dolly doesn't like to come out. That's why they had tea parties at home. I recorded everything she said and finally went to my house.

'You brought the girl here?' Terence and Kevin were the only ones at home.

'Yes' I nodded and got her a drawing block.

'What is happening? Is this okay? To bring her here?' he kept asking me.

I let him hear my recordings.

He was horrified. 'That is a bad sign' he glanced at the girl who was with Kevin happily drawing.

'And I did the right thing. Got the girl out of that house. I'm proud of myself' I nodded.

'There will be a lot of explaining to do huh' he let out a deep breath.
