If I could have but one wish, I'd give it lots of thought.
I'd have to wish for something that with money it could
not be bought.
I'd want it to be exceptional in every single way.
I'd want it to have meaning and last for more than a day.
I wouldn't want it to give me fame and fortune or fancy
cars and things.
I wouldn't want expensive clothes or huge diamond rings.
It would make me happy and content,
A blessing that was Heaven sent.
It would make people get along, and build a world that
was peaceful and strong.
Give understanding for all the world to share, and give us
leaders who really care.
See our children laugh and play and not be afraid another
single day.
Take back our streets filled with crime, and see no more
homeless begging for a dime.
So I guess my one wish would be,
God would grant this and let it begin with me.
