WHAT A WOMAN NEEDS

I want to be loved, as myself,

Not put on a pedestal or sat on a shelf.

I don't care about pearls or diamond rings,

A lot of money or material things.

I'd gladly live in a shack by the side of the road,

As long as I have someone to help carry the load.

I need someone that will hold me tight,

And help keep me warm on a long winter night.

Someone to stand beside me through thick and thin,

To be there with me from beginning to end.

I want someone to hold my hand or dry my tears,

Someone who will be good to me through all the years.

To help me teach our children, wrong from right,

Be there to help tuck them in when they go to bed at night.

I want someone to be here for me every day,

And I'll be there beside them, all the way.
