HS
I sigh, running my hands through my hair in frustration before taking a long sip from my drink, slamming the bottle back down on the table.
"What's stuck up your arse?" Liam asks as he leans back in the backrest next to me. My squared eyes glance over to Louis who's talking to a guy at the other end of the bar. I release a soft sigh before turning back to face Liam.
"Must you even ask?"
flashback
I reach home pretty fast after dropping Niall off at the station, despite the ride back home being close to twenty minutes. Probably because all my mind was entirely filled with was Niall and how he acted. Did I say something that ticked him off? All I was trying to do is be nice and offer him a ride. Why did he get so defensive the minute I mentioned about sending him home? Why didn't he want me sending him home? It can't be that much of a big deal, can it?
It's like the last time I offered him a lift, that night when I collected my car and caught someone punching him, he was so edgy about the whole situation. But really, who wouldn't be?
I sigh, shaking my head slightly to rid the thoughts of him. This is none of my business.
As I drive up my porch, I notice someone sitting right outside my door. I frown in confusion, starting to panic slightly at the thought of a burglar. My car headlights shine a little more light on them, and I've come to realise who it is.
Louis.
I groan softly under my breath. I put my car in park before climbing out, purposely taking my own sweet time in doing so, hoping to delay the interaction with Louis for as long as possible.
I can feel his burning stare on me, as I keep my head down, slowly making my way towards him.
"You shouldn't be here, Lou." I breathe out the second I'm within hearing distance.
"Can we talk?" He asks, completely ignoring my comment. His tone a little dull and cold, yet at the same time, it's soft and almost.. timid.
"I'm busy." I tell him.
"Please?" He asks again, his blue eyes getting a little glossy. His stare on me is intense, silently begging me to let him talk. Yet, I can see the smallest hint of coldness and anger behind those blue pupils.
Sighing, I nod reluctantly.
God knows how long he has been sitting out here, and as bad and fucked up as it sounds, and as much as I hate it, I can't send him away after knowing he has been waiting for me here the whole time right at my door.
"Thank you." He breathes out in relief and I nod slightly, before pushing my front door open.
He tentatively follows me in before I'm leading him to the couch, taking a seat on it.
Silence hangs between us, and it's rising in tension rapidly. My eyes are unwilling to meet his, but it's not the same for him. I can literally feel his stare drilling and burning holes through the side of my head.
"What do you want to talk about?" I'm first to break the tensed silence, but still not daring to meet his eyes.
He clears his throat. "Right erm.. I'm.. I'm sorry." He speaks softly and honestly, I'm taken aback by his words. My eyes snap up to his in shock.
