"Right, here's what you need to do. Tonight, I'll be setting off the smoke detectors. The sprinklers would come on, and if that still isn't big enough of a distraction, I'd do something else. But once the fire alarm goes off, that's your cue to leave. The whole building would be thrown into chaos. Everyone would be scrambling to shut it off, which won't work because I'll rig the sprinkler system down in the controls room. Ya followin' so far?"

We nod. "Good. Here's the key to get you out of this room."

And then the alarms went off, ringing like a world war II air-raid siren. It was infuriating, it grated the nerves, but it was our signal to get ready.

Then, the overhead sprinklers got to work. Water broke free from that small little metal device in splutters, spitting it out in chaotic bursts, immediately starting to drench us with icy cold water.

That's our signal.

"Come on, babe." I had to shout over the loud pattering of water, my teeth chattering slightly at the feeling of the cold water dripping down my skin.

I lace Niall's fingers with mine, giving his hand a gentle squeeze in reassurance before tugging him up the stairs. I grab the key Zayn handed me earlier, jabbing it into the keyhole of the locked door before shoving it open.

"Once you're out of the basement, run all the way down this corridor, take a left after the third door, then run all the way straight. Take the second last door to the right. It should lead you straight to the carpark, and that's where Niall's car is parked."

"You alright, love?" I shout over my shoulder as I try my best to recall Zayn's instructions.

"Yeah." He nods. My vision on him is blurry. Our hair is matted against our foreheads, our clothes clinging uncomfortably on our skins. But we can't stop now. We continue running down the corridor, which now seems like it's going on for miles.

The cold water starts seeping into my shoes, stealing the heat from my soles. My face is soaked, the drops coming together to run into my eyes and drip from my chin, my skin rough with goosebumps.

Loud shouting and crashes were happening in the floors above us, and I know that soon, they'll definitely be out to look for us, thinking that this is our doing. We don't have much time.

The cold water droplets start to sting my eyes as we run down the last bit of the corridor which Zayn directed us in. This supposedly leads to the underground carpark where Niall has parked the car he drove from London. Which was why he brought us down to the basement instead, so that it was easier for us to get to the carpark. He told Elijah he brought us down because.. well, it's a lot more 'torturous'. But let's just hope Zayn isn't just taking the piss and leading us into a trap or something. Niall trusts him, and I trust Niall so...

I had to kick down another door which is supposedly the one to the carpark. I sigh in relief that it is.

"Once you reach the carpark, get into Niall's car. I'll be at the front of the building to lift the shutters to the carpark up. Once you're out of here, grab me, then we'll leave. There's a high chance EJ would come looking for you guys once the entire place is thrown into chaos. That's why you really need to get out of here fast. I've already called the cops, and by the time you guys get out, drive to the rendezvous point. There'll be a whole lot of cops there. Let EJ chase you guys, and the cops would be there, ready to apprehend him. But even if he doesn't chase after you guys, just tell the cops where they are and I'm sure he and everyone in there would be caught this time."
