"You seriously aren't into it are you Matt?" Hannah said as she rolled her eyes. "I'm standing half naked over here!" Hannah waved her hands in front of my face, and I finally snapped back into reality.

"I'm sorry," I mummbled.

"Dude, stop thinking about my brother. Think about me! I'm right here Matt. For you." Hannah sat down next to me and put her shirt back on. She put her hand on my thigh and squeezed it gently. "Are you okay?" she asked after a moment of silence.

I exhaled loudly. No, I wasn't okay. Liam and I were best friends. Have been since we were in diapers. Why couldn't I see it? Why didn't I notice before? He sure never acted gay around me. Or around any guy for that matter. But still, we were best friends. I should've at least caught onto something.

After I didn't reply Hannah got angry with me. She groaned loudly, complaining about how there was a great party going on downstairs and how she chose to give it up to spend tonight with me. How I should've been greatful, that after two months of being in the same house as her we were finally going to do stuff. After saying that, I got pretty steamed myself.

"I'm sorry that I don't feel like having sex! I'm sorry I'm in a weird mood. If you're so mad about being with me right now then go downstairs and hook up with some other guy for all I care!"

Hannah gasped. "Fine! Maybe I will!" With that, she marched out of the room and down the stairs. After saying that, I instantly regretted it. None of this was her fault. It was mine. I was supposed to be happy but I wasn't. I wanted to chase after her, but I knew it would be of no use. She won't talk to me. Not until I got my stuff together.

Instead of following my girlfriend back to the party I went to the basement. The party had spread all throughout the house, and it was the busiest in the basement because of the bar. I didn't even care about the party at the moment. I got myself a drink, and walked out the basement door to the garage.

My suspisions were correct. Liam was sitting there on the hood of his van. "Hey, man," I said to him. "Why are you out here by yourself? I thought you were hanging out with Parker."

Liam rolled his eyes and flashed me a genuine smile. It felt nice. He hasn't smiled at me like that in a few weeks, I almost forgot what it looked like. I rolled my eyes at his goofy, lopsided grin as he patted the spot next to him on his van.

"Seriously though. The party is inside, you know," I told him as I took the spot next to him. I opened the can of beer I got from the bar inside and took a small sip. I offered him a drink too. He took the can from my hand and downed the whole thing in a matter of seconds. "I was thirsty, too," I complained. He just laughed.

I was going to ask him why he was out here again, when he finally decided to answer me. "I decided it was too loud. And I felt awkward."

"About the party... or about Parker?"

"Both, really."

"How come?"

"Well, the music in there sucks ass. Like seriously who unplugged our playlist? And Parker," he paused and chuckled dryly, "Parker is a great guy. And in just one day, he managed to convince me to tell you who I really was. But he wants something I don't."

"Little horn dog, eh?"

Liam's giant shoulders shook as he laughed. The sound of his voice echoed off the garage walls, filling the room with his loud laughter.

"Yes, Matt. He's a giant pervert. Nice guy, giant pervert." He sighed. "And I don't like him like that anyway. I mean, I just met the guy and already I can't stand his flamboyant-perverted attitude. I can already tell we're just going to stay friends."

I nodded. I was starting to get confused at this point. I know I asked, but why was he getting all deep and sentimental. That stuff is only for cliche movies and books.

"Besides," Liam said. He was talking slower now, as if he had to think of his words wisely. He talked in slow motion, tasting each word as it left his tongue. "I've been in love for a long time, Matt. I knew it too, but I was too scared. I'm not anymore though."

I kept my face blank. "What?"

He rolled his eyes. "Matt, I think I've been in love with you for a long time now. I should've told you sooner... but I..." he paused again and looked deeply into my eyes. He started to lean foreward, and I silently started to panic.

When he was just centimeters from my lips he pulled back and started howling with laughter again. He wiped a hand over the length of his face. "Oh, God! Matt, you should see the look on your face right now!"

"Huh?" was all I could manage. What was happening here?!

"Matt I'm not in love with you. No offence, but you're not my type. Plus we're best friends so... awkward. No, Parker just left, so I decided to take a little break from the party and have some time to myself. But thanks for checking up on me."

"So wait... you're not in love with me?" I said, eyes wide. "What do you mean I'm not your type?"

"Are you bummed out about it now?" he chuckled.

"Well kind of! I mean, I'm straight so don't think you even have a chance," I said jokingly. "But come on, I'm pretty hot. You know you like what you see."

"Oh God, no. You're too conceded." At this, I put my hand over my chest in mock hurt. This little insignificant talk with Liam made me feel a lot better. After a few moments of silence passed us by, I decided to start joking around with him again.

"You know, you don't really seem gay. And I just can't picture you boinking another guy in the poop shoot."

Liam was laughing so hard he started to snort. "Oh, my God! You really do have a way with words, Mattew."

"Or vise versa," I added with a shiver. "Ouchie. Are you a virgin then? What's it feel like? I imagine it's like taking a reverse dump..."

Liam held up his hand. His blue eyes were wide with embarrassment. "Alright, that's enough. Go bother my sister."

Hannah! How could I forget about her?! I said my goodbyes to Liam and left the garage to go find my girlfriend. I was feeling better now, and I wanted to enjoy the party. I wanted to enjoy it with Hannah. Hopefully I could find her and make peace with my beautiful girlfriend.
