Chapter 3

Maddie's POV:

"Okay let's see. Niall you have the P. O. G. juice, Louis, coffee without cream, Liam water, Harry orange juice and Zayn orange juice. Would you like to order now?" I asked.

"I think we're ready." said Harry looking at Niall.

"Okay, Zayn?" I asked trying to get Niall first every time.

I took their orders and went to the kitchen to tell the chef. Then, I sang Play It Again by Luke Bryan. Then, I checked on the boys.

"Need any refills?" I asked, excited to be talking to them but trying to stay punctual and professional at the same time.

"No I think we're good.'' Said Niall. Our gazes met, and I got this weird sensation, as if I had met my future spouse. He smiled, and I followed suit. 'Focus!' I told myself. 'Snap out of it!'

"Ummmm...'' I stuttered. "I'll go see how the food is coming." I said, awkwardly walking from the table.

Niall's POV:

"What was that about, mate?" Liam asked me as soon as Maddie walked away from the table.

"What?" I asked, even though I knew what 'what' was. In fact, it was a she, not a what.

"That waitress. It seems you have some feelings towards her."

"What makes you think that?" I said testily.

"You and her had a little stare down.'' He said, smirking.

"That wasn't a stare down," said Louis, finally coming out of his morning grouchiness. "That was a gaze down." We all laughed, including me.

"Whatever." I said, gladly ending the conversation.

Maddie POV:

I was disappointed when I was done serving the boys. I hung up my apron and went back to my stool and started singing You and I by 1D. After I sang the final verse, there was a tap on my shoulder. I thought it was Angela, but when I turned around I saw the dazzling blue eyes and perfect smile of Niall Horan.

"Do you take tips for singing?" He asked. I was extremely shocked.

"Umm, I'm allowed to but I don't usually get any."

"Well, I'll be one of your first donations, then." He said, taking a fifty dollar bill out of his pocket. I felt my mouth drop. "Here you are." He said holding it towards me.

"That's more than enough! Put some back!"

"No, you deserve it. And right now, I have more money than I need. You're a really good singer."

"Oh my goodness!" I said blushing. "You too! You and the boys." Why am I so awkward?

"Thanks." He said. "This May sound a bit odd, but could I maybe have your mobile number?" Then, the fan girl inside of me came out.

"OMG yaaaaaaasssss of course omg this is amazing OMG omgggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Okay, great!"

"Okay it's 253-0161." I said. Then he gave me his.

"I hope we can hang out soon." He said. "I got to go. See you, Maddie!"

"You, too Niall."

I couldn't believe what just happened.
