THIRD PERSON POV.
Somewhere in the TARDIS was a dining room with a table large enough and shaped correctly so that 4 adult Timelords, 2 young Timelords, 1 very confused adult human, 1 very well informed young human, and 2 cats could all eat and be part of an informative conversation all at the sane time.
In said dining room sat the TARDIS's 10 occupants, eating ravioli and taking part in pulling every little detail from the story being told by The Vet, Cardinal, and William.
"Well, after Cardinal made William mad and run off, we kinda just sat there for around three hours." The Vet started, after the table had all agreed she should be the one to start this part of the story.
"I went to my room and thought about it, and decided I would talk about it, because, you know." William added
"And he came back and The Vet and I were having a staring contest through the bars. I was totally winning." Cardinal put in his part
"Liar, your eyes were twitching, I was totally winning. But William came back to talk to me-" The Vet continued
"Us" cardinal interrupted
"Us," The Vet agreed, "William came to talk to us and we talked about our families and realised how many similarities we had."
"I decided to come meet you guys. I don't have many friends, but The Vet said I could be her friend." William said
Everyone at the table nodded at this.
"So we brought him back, and he's gonna stay with us for awhile." The Vet concluded, looking at all the children at the table.
"You know," Noelle started after a moment of silence throughout the room, "we ought to get a school going in here, three kids is enough for a class, one of us could teach at a time. Or just one of you, as you already boast your supposed genius enough."
Sisi looked up at this, taking interest, but the look The Storm gave her silenced her before she could even start.
"No, she wasn't talking to you, cat. And I think that sounds like a fair idea, Noelle." The Storm said
"Alright, I already tutor Koyoko." The Vet said
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Cardinal started laughing. Everyone looked at him confusedly, and when he finally caught his breath The Storm was looking at him with one of her many looks that replaced words in communication.
"What? oh. It's just funny, see, because this is so domestic. I was convinced, when I was probably about six, that I was gonna explore the universe. Adventurer. and I just now noticed, as you all discuss starting a little primary school onboard one of the last two TARDISes in existence, just how bloody domestic this is!" Cardinal seemed more like he was yelling complaints now, and he hit the table with the side of his left fist and looked down as he continued on his rant in a calmer tone, laced with sadness and anger, "Then again, if someone had told me back then that in five hundred some years time I'd be one of the last seven Timelords in one of the last two TARDISes after the Universe's biggest Timewar, I'd've laughed."
Sindi, Koyoko, Sisi, Mico, Noelle and William all looked frightened. The Photographer, The Storm, and The Vet looked shocked, but also defensive.
"Cardinal..." The Photographer started quietly, unsure of what to say, but unwilling to sit and listen to him rage manically.
"We're not the last seven." The Vet said defensively over The Photographer's next words. She had said something reassuring, but no one would know what it was.
"We are right now. No, we're six of the last seven. Your brother's off doing whatever he does in his own transport." The Cardinal said harshly
"He is saving the Universe!" Sindi suddenly spoke up, she glanced at Koyoko briefly as she continued, "That's what The Vet and Ko said. She went on an adventure with him for one Christmas, and anyone who does what he did for a little family must save the Universe." The Vet had told Koyoko that story. Mico had told Koyoko his side of that story. Koyoko had told Sindi that story. Sindi had thought deeply about that story. Sindi was defending that story.
