Chapter 20

Joel's POV

I felt so sorry for Lizzie. I didn't know what caused her panic attack but I felt responsible, maybe I shouldn't have went ham on her this morning. No. She was a complete bitch! Well I don't know what was causing to be like that. But she could have told me she didn't like me in person instead of texting me. Maybe I should talk to her?

-time skip cause no one likes class-
I go to my locker and get my books for my next three classes. I text Lizzie to see if she was still here.

J: "hey, can we talk?"
L: "eh sure , where are you?"
J: "my locker wby?"
L: "lunch table, do u want me to go to ur locker or?"
J: "what no! I'll meet you outside the doors of the lunch hall."
L: "kk"

I start walking to the doors to meet Lizzie. I can see her bright pink hair waiting for me. "Hey." I say in a low pitched voice. "Hey what's up?" You could feel the awkwardness after this morning. That was our first fight. "Sorry about this morning." She tucked her ear behind her ear. "It's fine, why did you tell everyone I was with Callum?" She asked. I was completely confused. "You told me." I explain the whole text message situation. "Joel that wasn't me, I lost my phone this morning. Anyways why would you ask Leah out of you liked me?" Again I explained the whole money thing. "Are you okay after this morning?" Lizzie looked down. "Yeah kinda, is it okay if I crash at yours? I'll sleep on the couch." Why was Lizzie asking to stay in mine? "What? Why?" She told me her mum and dad were getting a divorce and she told her mum she would move with her dad but is now regretting it. "If you want my mum and dad are out of town for the week, I do have a spare bedroom so there's no need for a couch. But why would you ask yammy?" We walk another lap of our school. I can't help but notice how cute Lizzie was. "Yammys mum will ring mine and tell her why I'm staying and all, I really don't wanna go home today, or ever for that fact." There's a pause. "You can text Maddie and ask her if she wants to stay also. Her and Chloe get on great so." I suggest. "Sure I'll ask her later, thanks a lot Joel you really don't have to do this." stop walking and face Lizzie. "I'm always here for you Liz, I am willing to stay up until 7 am to help you. You have amazing friends who care about you so much okay. It's just a hard part in life your going threw but we can help out." The bell rings and we walk to class together.

-time skip to the end of school cause I can!-

I go to my locker and grab the books I need for homework and make my way to the bus. I walk down the lane way to the bus and wait 5 minutes for the bus to come. I make my way to the upstairs of the bus. ( no lies a double decker brought me to school at the start of first year, but none of my friends would sit upstairs:( it was sick tho.) we all sit in our spots and wait for someone to start a conversation which is normally oli."did you ask Maddie?" I ask Lizzie. "Oh yeah she said she would like to if you don't mind." I tell Lizzie I don't mind. Why would I? There really no hassle and it's the least I can do for them right now. "What are you talking about?" Yammy joins in the convention. "Well I'm crashing at Joel's tonight." Lizzie turned around to face yammy. Scott's face went from not interested to very interested. "What? Why?" Oli says. "Are yous like a thing or?" Yammy questioned. My fave went bright red. "WHAT? No no no," me and Lizzie said at the same time. We both looked at each other. "Well." We both said again. "Jinx!" We both shout. "Jinx twice!" We say again. "Stop!" We say simultaneously. "Okay you talk, no you!" You can see what's happening. "Both of you shut up!" Yammy shouts. And we do. "This isn't over!" Lizzie giggled. I made a face back to her. "Okay so why are you staying in Joel's?" Scott asks. Lizzie explained the situation with her parents. "Oh my lag Liz I'm so sorry! Does you mum know ur staying in Joel's?" Yammy tied back her hair for whatever reason. "Yeah, she said she was cool with it but she doesn't know why I'm staying." Lizzie continued. she flicked her bright pink hair to the right side. "Well if you need anything hit me up!" Oli offered. Lizzie thanked everyone for being really helpful with her. Out stop came up and we all walked off the bus.

We walked up ye lane to my house. "Oh my gosh it's beautiful!" Lizzies eyes were dazzling as she looked at my house. "Not too shabby." Maddie laughed. We all went inside and I got Lizzie set up in the spare bedroom. "Stay as long as you want." I offered. She hugged me tight. "Thanks Joel, really." She pulled out of the hug. "Honestly Lizzie, its fine. I don't mind having you hear!" I laughed. "Are you hungry?" I asked. She turned to me. "A bit." We made out way to the kitchen and I had a look in the freezer for food. "Can you ask Maddie and Chloe f they want a pizza?" I asked Lizzie. She nodded and went upstairs. I got a text from oli.

O: yo dude. Come to the park at 7:30 Kay?

J: y?

O: cause me, Scott, yammy, kiol, Callum, Jess, Lauren and Bobby are going. Invite Lizzie Maddie and Chloe!

J: why Chloe?

O: so she doesn't feel left out! Just do it Joel! It's gonna be a whopper of a night! Mup the sesh!

J: okay firstly. Mup the sesh is an Irish saying for drinking all night, secondly what do you mean by a whopper of a night? I'm worried

O: it does? Oops. We're not drinking. Well some of us might be. Just come!

Oli wasn't the best at explaining things. I mention the idea to the others and there all down for it.

Lizzies POV

Oli invited us to the park. Which was in a hour so I nearly have enough time to eat and get ready! The pizza was ready and I help Joel take it out of the oven. After pizza I get changed out of my uniform. It was now 7 o clock. Great.i throw on some high waisted jeans, wedges, a white crop top and my all time low hoodie unzipped. I left my hair down by gave it a quick brush. I felt ready. I touched up my make up and went into the kitchen. Joel was siting at the counter on his phone. "Wow!" He looked up from his phone and seen me. "Ahah thanks, it's nothing special." I tucked my hair behind my ear and blushed a bit. "Nothing special?" His voice went high causing me to laugh. "So you ready?" He asks. I reply with a nod. We get Maddie and Chloe and head down to the park. We see everyone sitting in a blanket. It's dark outside. "Awe it's a family?" Yammy shouts. "Shut up!" I try not to laugh. "Oh my gosh Lizzie it's you! I actually taught you and Joel were Maddie and Chloe's parents!" Yammy laughs. Everyone in the park looked at her ikr she was crazy. I sat down beside Joel and yammy. Maddie sat beside Oli. Ew. And Chloe beside Scott. It's weird, third years and first years getting along? Who would have taught. I hear a boom noise and look up to see fireworks. "Wow!" I sat in amusement. "Told you it was good!" Oli shouted to Joel. "Wow Oli their fireworks! It's gonna change my life forever!" Joel sarcastically replied. "You never know, you might end up asking Lizzie to date you!" My face went bright red. I looked the other way to spit my drink out. Everyone started laughing.
