Torn

Chapter 6

Peggy woke up to her alarm. She put on a tight yellow crop top and a mid calf length, flowy white skirt.

She walked downstairs and to the kitchen. She grabbed a donut and sat down at the counter to eat it. Her phone buzzed with another text from Laf [day before the day till homecoming. So excited!!]

Peggy responded back [yep. I'm excited too.]

She turned her phone off and flipped it so the screen was face down. She finished her donut and then went to her room to do her makeup. When she was done she grabbed her backpack and sat on the couch waiting for her sisters.

"Angelica that's my highlight brush!" Peggy heard Eliza yell from up stairs.

"Can't I use it. That's all I have to do before I finish!" Angelica yelled back. 

"Stop fighting and hurry up or else we will be late!" Peggy yelled at them.

Angelica brushed on the highlighter and her and Eliza ran downstairs and they all went to the car.

"I'm so excited for homecoming!!" Eliza screamed.

"Stop screaming or I may crash!" Angelica yelled.

"Sorry. You guys excited?" Eliza asked.

"Yes. I can't wait" Angelica said.

"Ya. I hope it's fun" Peggy faked a smile but her sisters couldn't see her cuz she was in the back seat.

They got to school and Angelica let Eliza and Peggy out at the front of the school then went to find a parking spot.

Peggy walked in and went to her locker. She got to her locker and saw John walking towards her. She smiled and opened her locker and out of the corner of her eye she saw Laf walking up to her from the other side.

She grabbed her books out of her locker. She shut her locker and turned around and leaned up against it with her back. Laf and John locked eyes then they both looked at Peggy and Laf started walking faster and went to her.

John instead went to his locker which was only two down from Peggy's and listened to their conversation.

"You excited for tomorrow?" Laf asked Peggy.

"Ya. Super excited." Peggy faked a smiled.

John turned around to see Maria walking down the hall and closed his locker and walked to her and started talking.

"You ok?" Laf asked noticing the fake smile.

"Ya. Just stressed out cuz Eliza is making me help her with the planning and decorating for the dance and I have this big AP science test on Monday" Peggy lied. She wasn't so excited cuz she didn't like Laf this way anymore.

"Oh. Sorry. Hope the dance takes some stress off of you. I'm sure it will be fun," the bell rung and they walked off to their separate classes.

                               ~Lunch~

Peggy sat down at lunch next to Maria. "Hey Maria."

"Oh hey. I'm so excited for Friday. Are you?" she asked.

"Why is Friday the only thing people are talking about?" Peggy asked loud enough for everyone at the table to hear.

John sat down next to Peggy "cuz it's the first dance of the school year and it will be fun."

"Ok..." Peggy ate her chips. People talked about the dance, nothing super important. Peggy turned to John "hey what you doing after school today?"

"Maria, Angelica, Herc, and I are going to go hang out. Cuz I guess I'm going to homecoming as a group of the four of us inside our big group I want to get to know Maria better. I had Angelica and Herc come along so we all get to know her for our little dance group."

"Cool" Peggy faked a smile and the bell rang. She stood up and started walking to her next class. "Saved by the bell" she murmured to herself.
