In class Peggy couldn't help but think about John and how she wanted to go with him to homecoming.

At lunch Peggy sat in between Laf and Maria. She normally sat next to John. John peaked around Maria to look at Peggy. "You ok?" He mounted. Peggy saw him but pretended that she didn't.

John pulled out her phone and texted her
[Peggy: you ok?]

Peggy heard her phone ding, it was loud enough for the whole table to hear. She didn't answer it. She didn't even pick up her phone to read it.

John reached around Maria and tapped Peggy on the shoulder. Peggy turned and looked at him. "I need to talk to you" he whispered. He stood up. He put his hand out to help her up. Peggy didn't take his hand. She stood up by herself. They walked out to the hallway.

John turned to face Peggy. "Are you okay?"

"Ya. Why wouldn't I be. I mean homecoming is tomorrow." Peggy faked a smile.

"Peggy, I'm your best friend. I know that smile. Tell me what's wrong."

"Nothing's wrong. I'm fine John. Ok? Come on let's go back and eat," Peggy left john there.

Peggy got back to the table and sat down and finished eating.

John walked back a minute after Peggy and sat down and ate.

*ding*

The bell rang and everyone went to their last two classes.

Peggy sat in the back of history, her favorite class, with her hoodie on and hood up. She normally sat at the front of the classroom. John had the same class as her. He saw her sitting in the back and sat down in the desk next to her. She pulled her hood further down.

During class she didn't say a word or raise her hand.

After school Peggy got into Angelica's car and her and her sisters road home. Her two sisters in the front seats rambling off about homecoming. They got home and Peggy went to her room to do homework.

After a few hours past Peggy got ready for bed.

Peggy heard her phone buzz and picked it up to see a text from Laf.

[cant wait for tomorrow. Love you!]

Peggy sent a short text back

[same]

She turned out her lamp and want to sleep.

Sorry that was a short chapter. I just really want to get to the homecoming dance.
