Chapter 16- Apologies

[Frank's POV]

I stormed out of the hospital, getting some looks from the old ladies going to get their hip operations done. I didn't care, I just had to find that asshole and show him how I felt about him hurting my Ingrid. Well she technically wasn't mine, but I was hoping to change that as soon as Ingrid was over Alex. She deserved better than him, she deserved someone who would treat her right. Someone like me. I was making my way towards Ingrid's house, I was sure they'd all be there talking about what had happened and Alex would be putting on his oh-so-faithful boyfriend act. I hated him. I was going to get him for this.

[Millie's POV]

I had been enjoying a coffee out with Tony when I heard about what happened. We were sat with our coffees on a bench down by the beach, I was snuggled into Tony's side trying to shield myself from the cold. Tony felt me shiver and put his arm around me. I felt safe, I felt happy too. That was when the phone call came through.

"Holly?" I said, it didn't sound like her, the voice was all shaky and croaky.

"Millie it's me," she said quietly.

"What's up?" I asked, sitting up from Tony and my voice laced with concern.

Tony narrowed his eyes in confusion so I put my phone on loudspeaker.

"It's Ingrid," Holly had said, crying now.

"What's happened?" I almost shrieked. Something awful must have occurred for her to be crying.

"She got run over," Holly sobbed, "can you come over?"

I didn't need asking twice. I pulled Tony up and dragged him all the way to Holly and Ingrid's place.

It took us half an hour to get there and Holly explained what had happened. Erin, Lucy and Vic were there too and they all looked incredibly shaken up. We all comforted each other, not really sure of what else to do knowing that Gerard, Frank, Mikey and Ray were with her at the moment. Alex, Jack and Mike arrived to be with us all. We sat in silence for a long time, no one really knew what to say.

"She'll be okay," Erin whispered softly, breaking the silence.

Everyone joined in, comforting each other and being optimistic. That was everyone except Alex. He was acting really weird and quiet, I couldn't tell if he was just upset about Ingrid or if something else was going wrong. Jack noticed me looking at Alex and shot me a glance. I glanced back at him, he looked guilty. Then I realised, so did Alex. I was about to ask why they were being so weird when Frank burst in.

"Where is that fucking prick?" He spat.

"Woah Frank, calm down," I stood up looking incredibly surprised. What the hell was going on?

Frank's eyes scanned the room until they fell on Alex who was looking even more guilty now that Frank had come in.

"You've hurt her," Frank hissed at him, "she got hit by a fucking truck and this is how you repay her?"

And with that, Frank punched Alex in the face. Alex didn't say anything, he didn't even fight back. He just accepted his punishment.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" Frank growled.

"I'm sorry," Alex muttered.

"No. No you're not," Frank said and walked back out again.

Thank God Ingrid and Holly's parents had left to sort out work things, they would've flipped shit if they'd seen that. After Frank left everyone looked at Alex, waiting for an explanation.
