Chapter 20- Happy Ending
[Ingrid's POV]
After Christmas I'd dedicated all of my time to organising the New Year's party. Any extra money I had along with the money I'd received as presents went into buying decorations, food and a DJ. My plan was to hold a concert in our school hall with all the guys' bands and have a party afterwards. I was so excited! Only Holly and Erin knew what was actually happening because seeing as they lived with me I couldn't really hide it. Everyone else knew their was a party but they didn't know what was happening yet. Today was the 29th December and I had to tell all my friends so that they were ready to perform some songs for the rest of the school. We all met up in the park to discuss things.
"Okay I've been keeping this from you all for so long, but now I need to tell you what's really happening on New Year's Eve," I said, nervously twiddling my promise ring around me finger.
What if they didn't like the idea? Or what if it caused arguments? Alex would probably be too scared to perform, I know about his anxiety. I took a deep breath and started to explain.
"I've hired out the school hall with Mr Grohl's permission. I'm organising a concert and party and I'd really love your bands to perform."
Everyone's eyes lit up at the idea and they started talking excitedly amongst themselves. I have Erin and Holly a satisfied smirk.
"That's such a great idea," Millie grinned at me.
"I agree, I'm really excited!" Lucy squeaked.
The other guys had started discussing things amongst themselves that we're clearly music-related. I didn't want to interrupt so I carried on talking with Millie, Lucy, Holly and Erin.
"So is it like a dance as well? And who else is coming?" Lucy asked.
"It's more of a party but I guess we can chuck a few slow songs into the playlist so all the couples can do cute slow dances," I told her.
"And the rest of the school are invited, not all of them are coming though," Holly added.
"Dress code?" Millie asked, she liked to dress like I did so was probably very relieved to know it wasn't anything fancy.
"Just as long as you can dance in it, you can wear it," Erin laughed.
"Thank fuck," Millie sighed.
"I'm going to phone the DJ and write out a playlist," I said, "oh and the teacher's are gonna be there too, so no alcohol!"
Everyone heard that and groaned. People started to protest but I told them firmly that no-one was getting hammered this time.

I made my way over to the little music shop in town called Picks & Sticks. As well as selling instruments, a few of their employees were decent DJs and I wanted to see if any of them were interested in helping out for a bit of money. I spotted Jason who had sold me my bass and ran over to him.
"Hey man," I smiled.
"Hey little rocker," he smirked and ruffled my hair.
We'd become good friends after I'd bought most of my instruments and all the things that came along with them from that store. Also, he had amazing music taste. If he wasn't about 20 I think I'd be trying every chat up line in the book.
